My players asaulted the Thiseltop and went into the second level without resting and were driven back by the combined forces of Tsuto, Orik,Lyrie,Bruthazmus. They ran back to Sandpoint.
All the Goblins are dead.
The four of them drug the sea chest down stairs that the players left running for their life.
the players came back and went down the other stair I had deemed that the players were guarding thier rooms for a better tactical advantage.
So the players went down stairs and faught Nulia and her shadow mastif and killed them both almost losing the Paladin and the monk.
they continued to explore downstairs and defeated the shadows and had to rest. (should of had them comedown and fight them during the rest)
they just went and faught the Giant Crab and killed it.
what should I have the four do?
they defeated them once so they are very confident and they know Nulia has a large amount of treasure down their if they got lucky and killed her they can take from them.

Off the top of my head, I can see the four of them going downstairs to hunt down the PCs, but I imagine they will be bickering quite a bit while doing it. Tsuto over cowardice, Otis over Lyrie over Tsuto, Bruthasmus just b/c he's a bugbear. So loud, ambushable perhaps. Still a rough fight for a worn-down party.

I'd have them leave Thisletop, cut the rope bridge once they're across and then level up a bit, only to reappear later in the AP to exact revenge. They're almost an effective adventuring party of their own, save for the lack of healing. A good spot for them might be after Skinsaw Murders, when the PCs are trekking across Varisia to Turtleback Ferry.

Not to be a "yes man" but this is what I would do as well.
In one iteration of Hook Mountain Massacre I had some Graul family survivors led by Mammy do the same thing.
Yoda has picked a good spot for them to strike back too. You don't want a distraction like that in the middle of Skinsaw Murders (that would be a pretty big red herring to the mystery), but that long trek to Turtleback Ferry is a good time for a revenge strike.

Since Bruthasmus and Nulia have a special/different kind of relationship, once the ranger sees she is dead, he may gather any surviving goblin harem, withdraw and look ways to stalk the party and harry them along their adventures. Scale his level to keep him competitive. I like bugbears as (relatively) patient generators of discord and murder, and will have him cut, run, and nurse one hell of a big grudge agianst the PCs.

I actually think Orik would take Nualia's death as the final straw convincing him that his choices were completely pooched and head out to Korvosa. His source of pay would be gone and aside from a fixation on Lyrie, there is no reason for him to stay. Besides, he had been considering cutting his losses anyway.
The players could meet up with him during Skinsaw within the city. Granted it makes for a red herring, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. It would give the potential for a non-combat encounter or a final showdown for Burnt Offerings (a bit late) depending how the PCs run with it.
Lyrie would stick with Tsuto and I would think both Tsuto and Bruthasmus would want to exact revenge for Nulia's death and a very tenuous alliance could result (Bruthasamus does have a thing for elven ears, or even half-elven, after all). With Bruthasmus being a ranger, I would think an ambush on the PCs as they make their way through Nettlewood on their return to Sandpoint (assuming they came in by land or if they came by sea and their ship is no longer available).
Post ambush, I can't these three staying together, though the Lyrie/Tsuto match may work for a longer term.

Nulia is the glue that held them all together. I just don't see them staying together long enough to accomplish anything. I see them hauling butt out of there and trying to survive.
I might not use any of them again but if I did I could use Bruthazmus. He might kidnap Shaletu or something like and the PCs have to save her. Espically if no PC was in love with her yet. Before Hook Mountain because it gives them more reason to bring her along.

Wouldn't Tsuto's priority be recovering Nualia's body and then going somewhere to make money to get her raised? Presumably they both still have townhouses in Magnimar, since they were living there until a couple weeks ago.
Nualia had not lived in Sandpoint in 5 years actually.
For what it's worth, Tsuto and Lyrie made a great comic tag-team for me. Lyrie was always rescuing Tsuto after he gets captured/taken, etc., while Tsuto can't even manage to remember her name.

The Paladin already put seeds of doubt in Orik, he didnt detect evil in him and told him to surender and he would be fair to him
They are planning a very solid ambush Have Bruthmus and Tstuo in the Hellcat room with their bow and rearm the trap in the hallway and start shooting them with the bow and have Orik and Lyrie in the Observation room then have him Orik in the door with Lyrie casting spells on the PCs

Nice! That sounds like a pitch-perfect way to handle the two of them! Also having Orik break off and crop back up has a lot of merrit, too. Since Lyrie doesn't really even notice him, having him cut, move on to Magnimar, and be some sort of NPC foil could be fun.

Oh yes :) - he had to *help* Lyrie rescue Tsuto from the Sandpoint Jail *smirk*
Unfortunately he got critted and obliterated rather badly in the process.

Agreed. Did you misread what I wrote? Or am I misunderstanding? Otherwise I think we're saying the same thing.

Here is the ambush I have planned for the party is this to hard core?
The Ambush
The four henchmen upstairs want to see what happened to Nulia down stairs they. They don’t fear the PCs cause they kicked there asses last time.
They realize Nulia is dead and set about a great planned ambush they wait for the heroes to leave the observation room. (The night before Tsuto rearmed the Glaive trap while the PCs slept) After the PCs leave the observation room Lyrie and Orik go into the observation room and lock the door and turn the Glaive trap back on. Once they hear the PCs Lyrie casts a Silent image off a scroll of the Hellcat room being empty. All the while Bruthazmus and Tstuo are hiding in the room waiting for them to either mess with the door or spring the trap to start unloading arrows into the party. Orik waits while Lyrie casts all her preps then opens the door stands in the door way and protects Lyrie while she goes to town using her Wand of Magic Missiles. Lyrie also has a scroll or shield that she casts on herself as a part of her prep spells
Lyries new spell list because her old ones sucked
