Noble Class?

Legacy of Fire

I notice that some NPCs in the City of Brass are listed as having levels of "noble" rather than "aristocrat". Is this a Pathfinder RPGism?

No, it's from a 3rd party book. I forget which one, but you could probably narrow it down by checking the OGL copyright declaration.

I haven't seen the adventure (and won't see it for awhile since I'm a player in the campaign), but I do know that Green Ronin published The Noble's Handbook supplement with a noble class in it.

Atlas Games published a 3.0e (I think) version of a noble class in Dynasties & Demagogues. However, given Paizo's tendency to rely on 3rd-party publishers for some adventure materials, and knowing that Green Ronin's and Necromancer Games' materials are frequently featured, I suspect that's the book they pulled the reference from.

Check the write-up for the character's again, because the adventures usually reference the sources of the non-core information they use.

I hope that helps!

I own The Noble's Handbook and have enjoyed using it. It isn't one of the six entries in the OGL though. I'm going to guess that the class is from Necromancer's City of Brass. I'll have to dig that up and check.

LOL.

Thanks for the clarification, tbug. For some reason, I was overwhelmed with a desire to be helpful, even though I wasn't really in a good position to do so on this one.

Likewise, the Green Ronin book was what I was thinking of. Glad to be of no help!

We probably should have changed all references to the "noble" class to "aristocrat," just to prevent confusion. If we REALLY meant to make them nobles from the Green Ronin book, I would have statted one up so folks could see what we were talking about and then would have also referenced that book in the OGL. We didn't, so my preference is to suggest that you just replace the word "noble" with "aristocrat" as you read. Unless you have the book and like the noble class, of course!
