I'm looking for another player to fill a space in my Red Hand and More PbP game. It's based on Red Hand of Doom, but is not a precise representation of that game, I'm adding a lot of my own stuff, and will be taking it in some different directions from the published module. Posting frequency varies, but we try to keep it to a minimum of three times per week, and posting daily is always welcome.
The characters are drawn up by Pathfinder rules, with some modifications, which I'll explain to whoever fills the spot. There are two character options available right now:
1. You can make up your own character, 6th Level, Pathfinder rules, epic point buy. Preferably a wizard or bard (we're already well set on Sorcerors), but it doesn't have to be. For feats and spells, you are not limited to only those in the Pathfinder Beta, you can choose from any of the published 3.5 WOTC books, as long as I've got a copy of the book, and as long as the feat/spell does not have region or deity specific requirements (for instance, you can choose a feat from the Eberron or Forgotten Realms series, but only if it doesn't require you to be from one of those regions or worship on of those deities - I'll bend a little on the deities requirement, if there is a Golarion deity that is a good equivalent, such as Pelor and Sarenrae). I've got most of the books, so just ask me ahead of time to make sure I have it, and you'll be good to go.
2. I wouldn't mind someone taking over one of our NPCs. He's a hobgoblin named Johnny (as the result of a well-placed but cheeky quoting of a line from "The Devil Went Down to Georgia"). He's a Fighter/Sorceror/Dragon Disciple (Gold), who started out as Lawful Evil, but our cleric has been working with him (using the Redemption rules from Book of Exalted Deeds), so he's shifted to Lawful Neutral, with a goal of eventually gaining a Good alignment.
Here is what the party already has, for purposes of deciding what you want to play:
Amie - half-elf cleric
Coraline - half-elf ranger (though possibly shifting to sorceror, for reasons that will later become apparent)
Hans - halfling druid/sorceror
Tate - human rogue
Johnny - NPC hobgoblin fighter/sorceror/dragon disciple
Yalla - soon-to-join NPC psionic/martial character (classes not yet revealed)

Technically we lost three players from when the game first started. I usually build a somewhat large group so that if players do go, it won't kill the game. So I could let you both in, plus the player from outside the website that has expressed some interest through one of our existing players, and that would bring the group back to its beginning size. The main drawback is it would move us into the APL+1 category for awarding XP, which results in fewer XP per player per encounter. On the other hand, it also lets me throw more powerful critters against you, so it kind of evens out.
As for the monk, can you give me some info on the slave-monk group you're creating, Valkyrie? I've never had a monk in the party, and it could make for an interesting addition.
Also, some notes on combat. Slow posting times can really drag down a combat, so I usually prefer everybody to post at least once a day in a combat situation. If you can't make that schedule, you can ask me to NPC your character for all or part of the combat, and I'll just use my best judgement based on your feats and abilities, or on established patterns from when you did post actions. Nothing kills a game faster than combats that take two weeks to muddle through.

Awesome! But if it comes down to just one of us, please pick Heaven's Agent, since his request is much closer to what you were originally looking for.
And understood about the posting frequency during combat. :)
The slave-monk idea is all just fluff with nothing mechanical added. The basic idea is:
Spoilered for length
In Vudra, everyone's lives according to the caste system and generally accepts their place in it. The lowest of these castes, so low that they're not even considered part of society are the "untouchable" castes, who are regulated to doing the most unsavory tasks for Vudran civilization if anything at all. They have no real rights at all, and the lowest of their castes aren't even considered people anymore. It's accepted as truth that people born to the lowest castes are there for a reason, the sins of their past lives have darkened their karma. And once you're born into the lowest of them, there's no rising from it. You'll always be reincarnated into that caste as punishment.
A priest/monk of Irori came up with a way to rescue these people from their eternal condemnation. He established a monastic order called the Khivatri that would pull in members of that caste during childhood and reshape them in Irori's image.
The idea is this: People are born to the lowest caste because of their personal weaknesses, mostly their selfishness to some degree or another. The only way to rise above the sins of your past lives and to cleanse your karma is to abandon the self and the needs of the self. You give up your freedom(and the lowest castes barely even really have that as it is) and personal desires for the sake of self-improvement, and only through service to another can you transcend to higher level in Vudra's religious/caste system.
Untouchables who are brought into the Khivatri order are no longer considered untouchables, but instead are Khivatri. It's a higher mini-caste than the untouchables, but they're still at the bottom of Vudran society and are still considered by many to not be people.
Khivatri train until early adulthood under the monasteries' harsh tutelage. They're are trained in the martial arts, to serve without question, to supress all personal desires, and to protect their future owners. After their training is over, they are sold off into Vudran society(at very cheap rates).
According to their code, Khivatri must serve and obey their owners, no matter their orders. If a khivatri's owner tells him to jump off a cliff, he will jump off the cliff. And a Khivatri must have a master. If a Khivatri's owner passes away without selling or giving him or her to another, the Khivatri must take their own life(the traditional way is to break one's own neck). This has also caused trouble for a lot of good people who came into possession of a Khivatri; as soon as they told the slave that they were free and refused to take them as a slave, the Khivatri will kill themselves.
Some Khivatri serve one owner their entire lives. Some serve a succession of many owners. They can be sold or given away, and as soon as the transaction is done the Khivatri must serve their new owner with absolute loyalty.
Most Khivatri serve primarily as bodyguards, as that is the primary training for all of them. But some serve their masters in other ways, as entertainment(often fighting, multiple owners arranging Khivatri duels aren't uncommon) and menial labor. An odd few are even kept in harems or even taken into marraige by their owners(though this is extremely rare and nearly unheard of in Vudra itself).
There is no stigma in Vudran society against selling or giving a Khivatri to non-Vudrans, for a few reasons: Khivatri "aren't really Vudrani", and the unshakable loyalty they display serves only to impress upon other cultures the strength of Vudran society(after all, if these are the lowest of their castes, then how great must the higher castes be?)
A Khivatri has no possessions except what their owner chooses to give them and let them keep.
Khivatri remember their given birth names, but always refer to themselves with the humble "this one" unless ordered to do otherwise by their owners. And even then, they will call themselves whatever their owner wishes.
In the monastery and when not told to do otherwise, Khivatri are dressed simply. And in another demonstration of emulating Irori and giving up their previous selves, they all go hairless save for a single braid of hair at the back of their skulls. Again, they will dress however their masters demand. A number of Khivatri have died in the past due to their owners dressing them in showy, impractical attire or even ornamental armor.
While a Khivatri told that he is free will try to take his own life, they can be ordered to "act free" to whatever degree their owner wishes. In countries where slavery is illegal, this is how Khivatri owners keep their property without drawing suspicion. This is also how kind and good owners often treat a Khivatri under their care. Their behavior is still highly ordered, and their greatest responsibility is still to ensure the safety of their owner, but a Khivatri can eventually "come out of their shell" when treated this way. It can be frightening and even traumatic for many Khivatri to suddenly have so much leeway in their lives, however.
A Khivatri who betrays the code and does not kill himself will usually be hunted down by the training monks of the order, but traitorous monks are exceedingly rare as they understand that the way of the Khivatri is the only path to transcendance available to them.
Khivatri can turn up almost anywhere, having been sold in the slave markets or changing from hand to hand elsewhere. The majority of them are owned by merchants or spellcasters, and the adventurous examples of the latter cover a lot of ground.
A Khivatri can be given to another in exchange for other goods or as a gift, and it is acceptable to pass ownership of one to another after death in accordance to one's will.
I think that's roughly everything.
Oh wow. That got a lot bigger than I thought it would be as I typed. Sorry about that... :(

I'd be interested in joining, if the plotline is indeed different enough. (I'm a huge fan of Red Hand of Doom, having run variations on it three times.)
I've never gotten a chance to play a psionic character past third level. If you'd like someone to run Yalla, I'd be fond of that.
I'll put it to my other players. The thing with running Yalla is that she is higher level than the others. She's 10th level with the +2 Level Adjustment. Since she advances a lot more slowly than the others, the party will eventually catch up with her. She's a bit of a plot character, so there would be times when I would either have to override you on certain actions, or nudge you in a specific direction, so you wouldn't have quite as much freewill as her player as you would if she were not a plot character or was a character of your own creation. But if the other players don't object, we can work that out.

Actually, you know what, I miscounted - we didn't lose three players, we lost four since the start of the game (cleric, bard, fighter and dragon disciple - not totally sure on the fighter, though, as he never told us he was leaving, we just haven't heard from him in a long time), and we started with eight. So I can actually bring all three of you in with your own original characters (or one of you playing Johnny, whichever you prefer).
I really don't mind having a relatively large party, since it is PBP, and it is the nature of this medium of gaming to lose players to real life, loss of internet, or just loss of interest.
To answer an earlier question that I neglected to address, yes the game is set in Golarion. Specifically in and around Nirmathas, Nidal, Molthune, Lastwall, the Bloodsworn Vale and the Mindspin Mountains. But your characters can be from anywhere in the Inner Sea region. I've set the Witchwood in the Fangwood Forest of Nirmathas and Lastwall, and the Wyrmsmoke Mountains in the Mindspin Mountains near the Bloodsworn Vale in Varisia. There are several other places that people have suggested, but I thought that area looked pretty good for it.

Some notes on character creation:
If you're playing your race's preferred class, I'm allowing both the extra hit point per level and the extra skill point per level.
You also get one regional feat for whatever region you come from for free, even if you don't have the prerequisites for it. Those are found in the region descriptions of the Pathfinder Chronicle Campaign Setting. If you don't have that book, just tell me where you're from, and I'll tell you what the regional feats are. Some of the adventure path player guides offer additional regional feats. Right now, the only ones I have the player guides for are Rise of the Runelords, Legacy of Fire, and Curse of the Crimson Throne, so those books are also available.
Hit points are max each level.
Feats and spells can be taken from any book I have available, which includes most of the 3.5 books published by Wizards of the Coast, as well as the Pathfinder Campaign Setting, Legacy of Fire player's guide, Legacy of Fire Adventure Path #19, Elves of Golarion, Gods & Magic, and all of the free downloads. If the same feat or spell appears in both the 3.5 books and the Pathfinder books, we will default to the version in the Pathfinder books, if they differ.
I didn't have as many books at the beginning of the game as I do now, so the existing characters did not start with the option of taking character Traits, so it would be kind of unfair for me to allow the new characters to take advantage of that.
They also were limited to the Prestige Classes from the Pathfinder books, but now that I've gained a better understanding of how the Prestige Classes have changed, I'll allow PrC's from other books as well. This will be on a case-by-case basis, though, as some of the old PrC's are kind of broken. I don't feel this is unfair, since the existing characters can begin taking advantage of those as well at future levels, whereas the Traits are only available at character creation.

What would you say to a dwarven geometer (Complete Arcane 39)? I'm a bit of a math geek, and the prestige class always appealed to me, but I never had the chance to play one. Maybe with a level of fighter tossed into the mix, to represent training with a bonded weapon.
Normally, you wouldn't be able to move into that PrC until 7th Level (but see the second paragraph below for a way around it). The only problem is that according to the Pathfinder rules, you have to meet the prerequisites before you gain the benefits of the level at which you move into the PrC. The Geometer class requires 9 ranks each in Linguistics (Decipher Script is now part of that skill) and Knowledge (Arcana). As long as these are class skills for you (as they would be if you take any wizard levels), then the entry skill ranks requirement for a PrC is Level-3, meaning you'd only have to have 6 ranks in those skills ... but you have to have those six ranks before you gain your first level in the prestige class, and unfortunately, they don't allow you to move into a prestige class at the same level you gain the prerequisites like they do with feats.
However, there is a way around this. I give every character something special for a really well-thought-out background story. Sometimes it is a bonus feat, or a bonus spell, or a magic item, or some other unique feature. If you give me a good story, I'll presume that your character started off as a Commoner 1 (what would have been called a 0-level character back in 2nd Edition). When characters begin play as a 0-level character (or Commoner 1, etc.), it effectively gives them a free rank in a few skills, a few free hit points, and a bonus feat. You won't get all of that, since you're not actually role-playing your character from such humble beginnings, but with a good enough back story, I'll let you treat it as if you had gained the free skill ranks in Linguistics and Knowledge (Arcana) at 0 Level, thus allowing you to achieve 6 ranks in each at 5th level instead of 6th, and thus allowing you to move into the Geometer PrC at 6th level instead of 7th. So give me a good back story!

Alright!
Is the character concept okay for your game though? I wasn't sure if it would make the other players uncomfortable with one of their number more or less owning a slave.
I was planning to stick to monk all the way, and I was thinking that if she's level 6 she has probably changed hands several times.

Hey, I just thought of you yesterday, and had completely forgotten I was going to let you know if there were some openings. There is one spot still left open that I was holding for one of baron's friends, but baron is busy moving right now and hasn't gotten back to me about his friend joining, so if you want the spot, it's yours!

The concept is okay. As to whether it would mesh well with the other characters, that would be something you would all have to role-play. Now, would she be owned by one of the other characters in the game, or by a third-party NPC? Slavery is one of those things that can run anywhere from conquering nations enslaving conquered peoples, cruel and inhuman treatment, or more benign treatments like indentured servitude in a caste system. It would probably be something more like the latter, as a 6th Level monk would probably be hard to hold captive against her will.

I didn't mean I'd be aiming to take the prestige class at start, just that character would be working toward taking levels in it as soon as he's able. That said, I do try to come up with well-written back stories for my characters, so we'll just have to see.
How soon do you want to have the character done? I work full time, and am looking for a better job to boot, but I'll do what I can to work character creation into my free time.

How does Fighter/Kensai sound? And If so what would replace concentration? Or I might just test the ability of straight fighter. If the campaign sees heavy arcane opposition perhaps occult slayer and the mage killing feats.
Concentration got absorbed into the Spellcraft skill. Which book is the Kensai in?

Just get it done when you can. It's not absolutely imperitive that you get it done right away. The party, where they're at now, could use at least another good melee character, as they're going to be up against some tough opposition, but I can always bring you in a little later, once you're ready.
On a side topic, word of advice: DO NOT quit your current job before you're solidly in another one. My friend just learned that lesson the hard way a couple weeks ago. She thought she had a new job, so she quit her old one, only to find out the new one wasn't such a sure thing. Now she can't even find work at McDonald's! Not a good economy for finding new work! Definitely, work comes first, so take whatever time you need.

Yeah, I've got that one, so that PrC if fine, if you want to play it. It looks like you can go into it at 6th Level, too. You'll need to make the following changes to the class skills list:
Balance and Jump are now Acrobatics.
Concentration is now Spellcraft.
All of the rest are still the same.
We'll need to come up with a good and fitting Oath of Service for him/her.
The main change that Pathfinder has made to the way Prestige Classes are done is with the saving throws. They slightly reduced the Good saves, and boosted the Average and Poor saves.
Here is the new Save progression for Pathfinder Prestige Classes:
1st: Good +1, Average/Poor +0
2nd: Good +1, Average/Poor +1
3rd: Good +2, Average/Poor +1
4th: Good +2, Average/Poor +1
5th: Good +3, Average/Poor +2
6th: Good +3, Average/Poor +2
7th: Good +4, Average/Poor +2
8th: Good +4, Average/Poor +3
9th: Good +5, Average/Poor +3
10th: Good +5, Average/Poor +3
Some classes, such as the Dragon Disciple, have two Good saves, and only one moderate/poor save, so the Good save bonus is applied to both. The best way to determine which saves are Good and which are Average/Poor is to look at the chart from the older books. If a 1st level save gets a +2, it's a Good save. If it gets a +1, it's an Average save, and if it gets +0, it's a Poor save. Pathfinder doesn't distinguish between Average and Poor saves with the PrCs.

Most definitely. I still intend to do the best I can at my current job. They pay me; with things as they are right now, how could I give that up before something else concrete comes along?

Now, would she be owned by one of the other characters in the game, or by a third-party NPC?
I was kind of hoping to be brought in by an NPC and then have my ownership handed over to one of the PC's if possible. I was thinking that my character would have angered her owner through failure of some kind and he would be willing to sell her off cheap or just give her away to be rid of her. He might just decide to free her though, which would be a death sentence to her. She would be desperate to serve any who would take her, but it would have to be an actual arrangement with her current owner.
Unless one of the other new characters wanted to already have her serving them, that is.
I'll have her backstory leading up to as close to the present as possible within the day, hopefully!

Background ready for approval!
Spoilered for length:
With her entrance into the Khivatri, she became something less and more than she was before. Her freedom was gone, but she was given purpose and was risen above the pariah caste into which she had been born. For ten long years, she and others like her were trained in the arts of Irori, reforging and strengthening both body and mind, all to prepare them for their lives in servitude. Once her training was complete, she was sold along with a few others to a wealthy Vudran merchant.
She served him for two years, protecting him and his interests as a bodyguard alongside several of her order that the man owned. When the merchant's daughter left for distant Jalmeray in the Inner Sea region, she and another Khivatri monk she had befriended, Pavdi, were given to her by her father as protection. Astounded as the simple monks were by the sights of Jalmeray, Neevan and Pavdi never faltered in their duty of protecting their master. The merchant's daughter had a strong rebellious streak, however, and chafed at their presence. Convinced that the monks were given to her primarily as a means for her father to keep an eye on her, she sold them off to a Katapeshi slave trader six months after arriving in Jalmeray.
Neevan and Pavdi were taken to Katapesh itself, and sold to a Munerator(gladiator manager). She and her friend fought others, and each other, for the entertainment of others for the next year. Far too many times both of them came close to death at the other's hands, but not once did they complain. They merely did what their owners told them to do. Eventually, Pavdi was sold to a high-paying buyer after a particularly impressive bout, one which left Neevan with both arms broken. He only had enough time to say his farewells and for Neevan to wish him well before being taken away. After her owner had her healed, she was put back to work, for the first time without any of her Khivatri brothers or sisters at her side.
She served in the ring for a few more months, before having the good fortune of catching the eye of an adventurous but elderly Katapeshi sage after an impressive fight of her own. The old man was interested in exploring the ruins of northern Katapesh and southern Osirion, and he needed the extra protection. He was kinder to Neevan than her previous owners, sometimes treating her less as a slave and more like a daughter. He also seemed to delight in challenging her to think for herself and to follow her own suppressed desires within the bounds of her restrictive code, but he always backed down when it seemed too much for her to handle, such as the time when he simply asked her to choose their next destination and she broke out in tears at not even knowing how to answer. She was never certain what she meant to the old man, but she suspected deep down that she was more than just a servant to him. The silver ring she wore at the end of her braid and the blue oval gem set on her forehead were gifts from him, and the first material possessions she actually owned besides the clothes on her back.
She travelled with him for two years throughout Katapesh and Osirion, protecting him as he pursued his research until he passed away in his tent one night. Neevan stayed by his side until the end, ready to take her life when she no longer had a master to serve in accordance with her code, but the old man had other plans for her. Before passing away, he handed her a document he had written and approved a year earlier. After his death, her ownership would be transferred to his estranged son, Nasir. The two had had a falling out a decade earlier, but the old man still cared for his son and did not want Neevan's life to go to waste needlessly.
Neevan carried her old master back to the city of Katapesh to be given to his family for burial, and then set out to find her new master. Travelling alone for the first time in her life, Neevan stumbled into trouble several times, completely unprepared to deal with the world on her own. It was only her fighting skill and her quickness to apologize that kept her alive as she searched Katapesh for Nasir. Once she finally found him, he was not what she entirely expected. An adventurous sort himself, Nasir was of a much more roguish nature than his father, always looking for a quick fortune and a bit of a conman at heart. He was saddened by the news of his father's death, but absolutely pleased to have such a gift. Finally he had someone to work with him who would not simply flee when things got too heated. Neevan followed her new master wherever his search for fortune took him, whether it was performing music on the street, attempted tomb raidings, bounty hunting, or more unsavory ploys, she did all she could to keep him safe. Unfortunately, Nasir moved too quickly for her much of the time, and his luck never seemed to hold for very long. His schemes kept them on the move and sometimes on the run, but still she did not complain, even when he blamed her for his bad fortune.
Nasir never stayed very angry at her for long though, and in truth, he treated her as more than a servant much like his father had. It was awkward for him when he took her as a lover, because he was never entirely certain whether she agreed to be with him simply because she was his property. In truth, she did care for him much as she cared for her father. Her desire to protect both of them ran more deeply than it had for her previous masters, though she couldn't quite understand why, so inexperienced was she in such matters. Regardless of these complications, she served him loyally until one fateful night in Absolom.
Having stayed at the city at the center of the world for several months after having to flee Katapesh for a time, Nasir had still managed to make enemies there as well. Eventually he and Neevan were found by a local crime boss who Nasir had managed to wind up in debt to after a failed scheme. Cornered and with nowhere to run, Neevan was prepared to die trying to defend her master, but Nasir tried to talk their way out of it. He tried to bargain with the crime boss for his life, offering him everything he had, the locations of several caches of hidden wealth that didn't actually exist, and finally, the ownership of a Khivatri monk. The man was savvy enough to know that most of Nasir's offers were nonexistant, but he did accept Neevan. Neevan looked to Nasir desperately, almost ready to beg him not to give her away, but she quietly accepted her fate as was proper for one of her station.
Her first order from her new master was to beat Nasir to death. She tearfully obeyed.
She was quickly sold to a valued associate of the crime boss, a travelling merchant who doubled as a go-between for many of the criminal's interests in Avistan. She silently and obediently accompanied him northward.
This is the most recent owner she has as far as the backgrouind goes at the moment unless one of the new players wanted to own her coming into the game. Otherwise, I was hoping this last owner would be the one she has somehow angered and is now looking to get rid of her.
Neevan has only the vaguest memories of her parents. She believes that it was their love for her that made them offer their daughter to the Khivatri. She prays to Irori that they will be allowed to follow her footsteps in their next lives.
I'll come up with names for all the unnamed NPCs in the backstory if you need me to. I wasn't sure how much detail you would want me to leave open.
I kind of think that one of the sources of frustration Neevan has caused her current owner could be the culture shock from being in Avistan. There and in Absolom she would have been in unfamiliar territory, and wouldn't be performing as well or as comfortably as she would normally.
Personality is up in the profile as well in just a bit.

Stats are ready, but I have some quick questions about equipment:
And since she's a slave, she probably shouldn't have wealth normally, right? Would it be alright to say that what gear she has was handed to her for the duration of her duty, in order to increase her effectiveness? I was going to say that she had only the clothes on her back and the two keepsakes from the old sage, and was equipped with a belt of physical perfection owned by her current master, but I wanted to be sure that was alright. The belt costs the entirety of a level 6 character's level wealth though, and it wouldn't do for Neevan to go around unclothed, so I should probably look at the belt that only boosts two physical stats instead of all three.
I should probably just focus on items to boost her AC instead though. It's pretty low.

Stats are ready, but I have some quick questions about equipment:
** spoiler omitted **
I believe the general rule is that no single item you possess should cost more than 1/2 of your level allowance. If, for instance, your normal level allowance is 9,000 gold (I'm not sure what it actually is at 6th level, without looking it up), then all your items together can cost that amount, but no single item should be worth more than 4500.
As for wealth, the allowance is based on the reasonable assumption of what your character would likely have come upon through the course of her adventures, whether through buying, picking it off the bodies of slain enemies, stealing, bartering, trading, reward, or just outfitting for utility (as by someone with direct authority over the character, as may be the case with you).
For your character, it really depends on what kind of relationship you had with your master. As part of the story arc to get you into the start of the game, I was thinking on having your master come upon some financially desperate times and forced to sell you to another. We can hash out the details on that soon. If your former master was a cruel master, then he probably wouldn't have given you much of anything, but we may have him killed in an ambush or a raid, and you can claim his gear as your own (conveniently, it'll match your "wish list"), but still feel duty-bound to make your way to where your new master waits. If your master was a kind master, then he may have given you what he thinks you need and have earned (which will also conveniently match your "wish list").

Nightwish,
As usual when I creating a character, I have some questions. Would you be kind enough to email me at c.mortika@gmail.com so that i might discus the matters with you?
I sent you an email. If you didn't get it, you can email me at Nightwish5121@yahoo.com. Or at servicestlouis@hotmail.com (yeah, I'm from St. Louis, can you tell?).

Oh, gotcha! Can you tell I usually start at 1st level? ;)
IIRC, the allowance for 6th level was 16,000, but that sounded like an awful lot. It just doesn't sound right for it to be so much.
That makes a lot more sense than what I was thinking of! I like the idea of him keeping protective items and still winding up getting killed when his underequipped bodyguard can't protect him. :)
That way, she would carry his body and all of his belongings to their destination and offer herself in exchange for whatever she was being sold for, with whatever it was going to her old master's family or associates.
She wouldn't dare take her old master's equipment for herself without being told to do so(she doesn't see herself as worthy of just taking something that hasn't been given to her by her betters), but if she was ordered by her new master to not let them go to waste, she'll take them with no complaints!
I'll have the "wishlist" and appearance written up by this afternoon! (I have to get my book AND double check that wealth allowance!)
p.s. I just noticed the bit about regional feats and how you wanted us to be from the Inner Sea region. Did you want me to relocate my birthplace to Jalmeray(Vudra's colony in the area) and use the feat for that country? I don't think Vudra itself has any feats.

Hehe, I just started running the Legacy of Fire adventure path for my real-world group, and had them start at Commoner 1 level (which would have been called 0 Level back in 2nd Edition).

I looked it up, and that is correct, it is 16,000. The 9000 I threw out there earlier was just an example. So your total gear (or wishlist, in your case) can come to 16,000, with no single item worth more than 8000.

A fitting epitaph for many an overconfident merchant/general/slavemaster!
I was thinking of him as cruel, or at least just completely uncaring. The only trouble I could see for Naveen is that if the transaction of her ownership hasn't already taken place, her current master would have to tell her something like, "You're going with me all the way to (whatever our destination is) and...
Yep, that's pretty much how it went. All the way to ... Nirmathas.

She can still have been born in Vudra, then just picked up the regional feat for Jalmeray (and wow, that's a helluva feat, especially for a monk!) after having lived there for a time. I'm not sure which book Vudra is detailed in. The Vudrani are described in detail in the Campaign Setting, but the actual kingdom of Vudra is only mentioned in passing.

Cool! I can definitely play off that! :)
I just updated appearance, and am picking through the gear now! Shouldn't be more than a few minutes!

I just got to look at the feat. Wow, are you sure you want to allow it? ;)
I think the bit on pages 154-155 is all that has been written about Vudra so far. I mostly worked from the Vudrani entry in the ethnicity section.

Got it!
WISHLIST
Bracers of Armor +2 4000 gp
Cloak of Resistance +1 1000 gp
Elixer of Hiding 250 gp (Her old master probably should have used it earlier...)
Handy Haversack 2000 gp (I figured it would make sense for her to carry all of her owner's stuff)
And that should leave 1000 gp left. I tried to keep it restricted to stuff my old master would actually have, but if anything looks out of place please change it to whatever seems right.
I was just going to go with mundane items for the rest of the loot, and forego whatever wealth is left over.
nunchaku
monk's clothing
waterskin
pouch (for rations)
trail rations (no meat)
chalk (5)
silver ringlet
blue gemstone
Looking through that list, it just seems like a bit much to me. If any of that is going overboard, please take away whatever needs to go. It's not like Neevan can complain about it. ;)
