I want to start by saying I think Paizo is a marvelous company. I have placed several orders with you guys over the past couple of years, and I have always been pleased at the responsiveness and general ease with which all communication is handled.
I also greatly appreciate the obvious care with which my purchases are treated by your warehouse staff before they are shipped - everything has always been well packed and arrived safely.
However, the only complaint I have are the styrofoam peanuts you guys use for packing material. Having never worked in a shipping and receiving type job, I don't really know much about packing costs, but is there anything else you could use to fill up empty space that has less of an environmental impact - some sort of recyclable paper product perhaps?
Now that I have had my say, I will let it go and continue to spend money on your fantastic products.
That is all.

We occasionally use paper, but only with specific products in specific circumstances—it can scratch book covers or acrylic items.
However, we do our part for the environment by reusing clean styrofoam peanuts wherever possible—we receive a lot from our distributors and we've arranged to use the excess from some people we know who get more than they use... and when we do have to buy them new, we try to buy the ones that are made from 100% recycled material (these can be identified by their green color).

Druids rock... I'm currently playing one in the Crimson Throne campaign, actually....
Okay, that aside... has Paizo thought about the bio-degradable peanuts... they are made of a corn starch material... basically, in a sense they are a flavorless, orange powder free Cheeto....
How do I know this? Well, prior to working in a mental hospital I ran a mining equipment company's warehouse on 2nd shift.... I got bored, there was a fun trick I could do with a box of corn starch peanuts and a very surprised truck driver or two that would never expect to see a warehouse worker casually eat packaging peanuts as he flipped through shipping docs......
(Hey! It was a boring shift...)

That explains a lot.

If you are out of control and wish for a cocktail (ativan 2mg, haldol 5mg, benedryl 50mg... two needle injection), please press 2 on selection key.
If you are simply here on a claim that you want to detox and you are trying to get a benzo or a loratab, please go sit down.

"Paging Dr. Dave..."
Does the self-serve hospital have a drive thru? I'm always in a hurry.
As for the styrofoam peanuts...I'm not a big fan. They get stuck in my hair.
I like the new Shrink Hotline. You get the whole hour in 5 minutes, over the phone. Which is great. I can get two weeks' worth of therapy in an hour's time. And since they have lots of shrink, the usual therapist burnout isn't such a problem any more.
And when they start wailing and screaming, you can just hang up.

Thanks for the response Vic - it's good to know you are at least reusing packing material when possible. I just feel bad that I don't do enough shipping to make reusing an option for me.
In the past I have taken over excess packing peanuts to one of my local hobby stores that also has an ebay store. He ships a lot of models and put the packing peanuts to use. You could always ask around local stores to see if anyone else needs them to reuse.
