Looking for AP opinions...

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

My group sort of fell apart a few months back during RotRL...

Spoiler:
we were just about to head to the Goblin stronghold.

One of my players moved to the west coast (we are in NYC) and we were using his place as our gamepad to boot, and my place is a tad small so we sort of were in gamer limbo.

Recently, we were talking about starting up again, and with a new player and at another players house. Ive been comparing APs to run and im still trying to decide which, so im looking for opinions. So far im leaning towards LoF...

Any opinions?

It's hard to really answer with out knowing your group. CotCT and LoF stick out as the favorites right now though.

As Sean said, if you could give us something of what you're looking for it would help to advise. I'm a player in RoRL and SD, and DMing CotCT and have claimed LOF for later as mine, and I like all of them for different reasons :)

Thats my issue too, I like em all. Since you are in 3 out of the 4, which do you enjoy most?

CoCT and LoF are my faves too, Sean.

My group likes anything for the most part. One player chose Urban (CoCT), one chose Wilderness (LoF, RotRL), and SD's Ocean's Eleven beginning doesnt do much for me but the other parts seem to grab me, though overall less than the other three.
Im also still considering The Savage Tide (not as strongly as the others), which would be easy to transport to Golarion.

Oooh ... I'm enjoying them all for different reasons.

RoRL strikes me so far (we've completed the first episode) as the most typically "D&D" ... hunt the baddies, deal with dungeons, etc. There are neat twists and turns layered on it, and the title of the second episode has me quite intrigued as a player and worried as characters :)

Crimson Throne I am LOVING as a DM. Again, we've only finished the first one, but there were so many variable encounters, plenty of room for the players to be doing their own thing, good RP situations and good fights. I am totally geared up for the second episode, and my players are already paranoid just from the title of it :)

Second Darkness is my first time playing a fighter since white box D&D LOL. It's definitely a different beastie than I've played before, and probably the "weakest" of the APs so far, but that's based only on the first book.

Looking at what your players want, I'd say Legacy of Fire or Crimson Throne will be your best match, as both have urban and wilderness play. You have to wait a couple books for the wilderness in Crimson Throne, but then you really get wilderness ::laughing:: Legacy of Fire possibly offers a wider array of races and classes that fit in without much work, but depending on what you are willing to do and work with, both are very strong APs.

Ill take another look at my CoCT books, but LoF is looking like the one so far. Thanks for the input.
