Do you require experience? I've got the 4E books, but never actually used them (other than a couple of 'test characters').
If you're open to a 4E noob, and requiring 3 characters I imagine there's some openings. I'd quite like to rehash a 3.5 character I played for a while.
Quentin Stoutheart
Male Halfling Paladin
Quentin felt called at a young age, and always stood up for his beliefs, despite the hardships of his race and being a 'gutter halfling', from a family of petty criminals he rose above it, despite being pushed harder by his instructors who didn't think he could hack it, he rose above it and now he is an ordained Paladin of Bahamut.
Drawn to the Nantir vale by rumours of an artefact of St. Woodthorne, one of the few halfling paladins known to the order, lost beneath Gardmore Abbey, Quentin is always willing to divert from his own tasks to assist those in greater need.

I am open to 4E noods. I am a 4E noob DM myself, so it all works out. Interestingly one of the characters we just lost was a Paladin, so that works out well.

Interesting problem, I have more potential players than slots. I could make you all fight to the death, or see what potential DM bribes are in the offing, but instead I will just say that the first three posted characters win. We have a Striker, a Defender, and two Leaders. We need a Controller. Other than that the sky is the limit. Currently we are 1st level. We will be using Method 2 for generating attributes. Everything from the PHB, PHB II, Arcane Power, and Martial Power is legal. Races from the MM and FRPG are also allowed, with my approval. Swordmage is allowed as a class, if you wish to use it. We already have one posted, so the next two characters posted are in.

As far as I know, we have a cellar, jam and diamond phobic human ranger, a halfling cleric of Corellan with a taste for limericks and a kobold swordmage who thinks he's Erroll Flynn. Apologies if I missed anyone. We're very short on area attacks and arcane splat.
We also have Hopeless' warlord.

I decided to make up a halfling wizard, since I've always wanted to play both and this seems like an opportune time to give it a go.

Milo Grubfoot grew up amongst a large family of halflings, who lived amongst their large extended family of halflings in a village hidden away in the woods. After Milo turned nine many stories begun to be told of mayhem striking the village as things began to be moved around the village on their own, lights appearing at all hours, and strange sounds reminiscent of even stranger bed-time story creatures. Until one day it was realized that Milo, without realizing it himself was the cause of such mayhem. His father Pogget (Who's mug matched his name, it's a wonder Milo turned out to be such a dashing halfling.) wrote to an old friend he had met in his travels, soon after Milo had a packed bag and a new home on the road. Milo doesn't believe he was disowned, he thinks he was just sent to be taught by this elf wizard how to hone his skills.
