Hello,
We're looking for one new player to join our Iskandria: Land of the Thousand Ziggurats pbp game, already in progress.
Ideally, we'd like someone to pick up playing one of the existing characters, a cloistered cleric of Islandria's god-kings, so I don't have to introduce another character in the middle of the adventure.
If you think you might be interested, check out the Iskandria game thread and/or the discussion thread. Campiagn information and houserules are here, while background information on Iskandria, created for last year's RPDG Superstar contest, can be found here.
The character needing a player is Liet Kynes, a cleric of the god-kings. If you're interested but don't like the character, I am willing to allow a rebuild of the character within certain guidelines.
Thanks!

Well, I made it through most of the previous posts in the game thread...though I'll admit I skipped ahead and mostly looked for inspiration on how to portray Liet. But there really wasn't a whole lot to glean. Most of his commentary has been rather clipped. He seems to hang back from combat a lot. He heals everyone and does a lot of support actions (i.e., bless, Aid Another, etc.).
As for the story of the game itself, it appears the party is on the run from the Rani and/or a member of the Cerulean Sisterhood. They've acquired a map from the recently deceased Samir...a possible victim of the same spontaneous combustion deaths occuring back in town. The map leads to one of the ruined catacombs of a couple of god-kings. And everyone has set off into the jungle to hopefully acquire enough treasure to empower and pursue their individual goals.
Is that about the gist of it? Or am I missing anything?
Also, it appears Liet missed out leveling along with the rest of the party. He's still 1st level while everyone else is 2nd? So he should advance if I pick him up, correct?

Yeah, he wasn't the most "dynamic" member of the party. You can certainly modify his personality some to suit your own tastes.

That's pretty much it. Although they haven't officially been on the run, many of them are questionable citizens that the current regime does not approve of, and carry forged identity papers as a result. Several of the PCs have plans/ideas/motives that are opposed to the Rani, but haven't really done much to realize them yet. The development with the Cerulean Sister is quite recent - the PCs are unsure if they are officially WANTED or not, but they are assuming so.
Also, the PCs' main mission (why they were originally hired) is to find the cause of these spontaneous combustions. Samir's map will hopefully lead to the perpetrator, or perhaps more clues.

Yep. Level 2 it is!
If you want to take him on, we'd love to have you!

Sure. Why not? It's not like I'm overextended on PbP's these days. And quality games (and gaming groups) don't come along very often. I count you guys among them.
So...give me a small bit of time to level up Liet and create a new alias for him. Then I'll start posting in-character for him shortly after that. I believe I may have the cure for what ails everyone in the oppressive jungle heat.
