Hi all me and my player's are up to Armageddon echo and we think (especially me) that some music would benefit the game greatly but we kinda find it a bit distracting sometimes... So what music do you listen to when playing second darkness? i would like something very long, Creepy. prefferably no singing, not to loud but with loud rises.
looking forward to all your answer's! and thanks very much ahead of time!

You know it all really depends on what you want. I personally like to keep my background music in the background. One of my all time favorite pieces to run in a game with a darker tone is Glen Danzig's solo composition Black Aria It is completely instrumental, moody, and dark. But then again how else would you illustrate the Catholic myth of Lucifer's fall from grace and the war that ensued after he left with this adherents.
If you want something with more of a hardcore edge for intense battles, go back to 90's industrial. Both Nine Inch Nails and Tool have a few suitable instrumentals. Metallica too for that matter.
On the classical side of things Stravinsky's Rite of Spring is worthy of some excerpts. Lastly you cannot miss O Fortuna from Carl Orff's Carmina Burana
If your looking for more ideas for a soundtrack to a dark game. There is a priceless source in White Wolf's original RPG Vampire the Masquerade In the Additional Reading Appendix it gives a very long list of music that inspired the creation of that classic and wonderful game.
I hope that helps. Happy gaming.

Soundtracks are your friend! I have used soundtracks from:
All 3 LotR films, 300, Conan the Barbarian, 2 of the Pirates of the Caribbean films (for savage Tide), Last of the Mohicans, Braveheart and several others that elude me at the moment.
As mentioned above, Danzig's Black Aria is great... Black Aria II is also available, offering more of the same. If this suits your fancy, check into a band called Swartalf, as they do/did the same sort of thing.
