IF YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED CURSE OF THE CRIMSON THRONE YET, DO NOT READ FURTHER!
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
Earlier today, in a session that started yesterday (yes, the darkness quit before we did), we finished Crown of Fangs.
Due to a number of Harrow Cards drawn from the Harrow Deck of Many things, the fight was marginally larger than it was supposed to be:
The Heroes (consisting of 3 PCs, a GMNPC, and Trinia, the cohort) had additional help in the form of Thais, Herald of Cayden Cailean.
The Queen in addition to her wraiths, her blood clones, and all four of her furies, had an additional ally in the form of a certain umbral dragon returned to life because of another Harrow Card drawn.
Boy, what a fight! Don't underestimate bards if they have a couple of powerful templates, an artifact, and a royal treasury to boost her - in addition to furies and dragons to play bodyguards.
Well, next stop: Second Darkness, with evil characters (They will save the world - for themselves)

Congrats to you and your crew. I know what you mean about long fights with extra combatants.

A particularly bad draw from the aforementioned deck.
Also, their sorcerer is now also a werebear, so the party's mobile-weapons platform also became another front line tank.
Ah, yeah. That happened to the monk and cleric in my group. Which I suppose would up the overall power level of the group quite a lot.
