Male Deva Shaman 2

The spirit lashes out at the ghouls around Setil, but he misses horribly. Meanwhile, the winds pick up, and the ghouls are shifted away.

I sorry Setil, but I have no way to heal you before you go into unconsciousness from the ongoing damage. Missed horribly with Defending Strike, and using a minor action to shift 1 to 35M and 2 to 35O.

Male Deva Swordmage

In response to #4 Ravenous bite, I'll use Frost Backlash.
Just as teeth close around his arm, Setil's body appears coated in a layer of frost.
-2 reek, -2 conceal = 27 vs. Reflex. Please let that hit. 16 cold damage and on the off chance it kills him, since it's an interrupt, it stops the bite from hitting, and any other bad stuff #4 was trying. Of course it would change #3's action.

It's cool, I'm the defender. Hopefully, I've helped myself.

Male Deva Swordmage

Well 2 more points of damage, thanks to SH, but I just looked back at when the initiate became bloodied, and he's not going down anytime soon:(

Male Deva Swordmage

Can't sleep, may as well roll my saves, Slowed = 12, Acid = 18, Weakened = 18, Death = 2.

Male Deva Swordmage

Oh man! I just saw my Astral Majesty! That means my AC is 29 vs. the bloodied Initiate! I'm still up! I should let the DM resolve stuff before I post anymore;)

Human

Fleeting threadjack. Davi, DM Grumpysauce - please take a look at the Winter is Coming Discussion thread. Threadjack ends.

Update and partial re-post, all involved (Karrn, Galad and Setil) please double check for correcticity. :) Note to self: pay more attention to conditional bonuses!

Thin nostrils flaring at the coppery scent of new blood on the fetid air, the blood-covered ghoul pivots away from Sundered Heart, launching itself under Setil's guard and ripping flesh from the Deva's arm with a powerful snap of its ruined jaws. The wound is ghastly, and corruption festers within it already, but the Deva's blade - rime-covered and deadly cold - punches deep into the ghoul's throat in answer.

"Take him!' whispers the hunching and wasted form of the pack's leader.

Needing little further urging, the bloodied ghoul continues his assault on the Swordmage, flailing claws cleaving naught but air around the stoic deva. Setil manages to step into the pack leader's blow, turning his shoulder so that the claws rake across armor instead of skin and bone.

#4 Recharge: No
#4 Move: Shift N32
#4 Standard: Ravenous Bite vs Setil (AC): 35, 22 damage and Weakened (save ends). Setil's Frost Backlash hits #4
#3 Ghoulish Fervor grants #4 a basic attack vs Setil (AC): Miss
#3 Ghoul Pack vs Setil (AC): Miss

Karrn, feeling the barely leashed forces of elemental chaos escaping him, can only watch as the mist around him thickens into a swirl of snowflakes that dance madly, caught like Galad in the staggering rush of a sudden winter wind.

Karrn:

Spoiler:
As the snowflakes dissipate and the wind calms, you hear in the stillness of your mind a powerful, sustained roar, such as from a mighty waterfall. Blinking yourself out of this odd reverie, it appears that the leaves of the tree that shelters you are no longer leaves at all, but clusters of gently waving, downy feathers.

The wind spirits, playful and capricious as is their wont, rant and mutter with sibilant whispers as they obey Galad's instructions, enwrapping the lesser ghouls in their shrieking embrace, lifting and spinning them madly, before growing bored and dropping their burdens unceremoniously back to the muddy earth.

The presence of so many wind spirits has had another, unintended but welcome effect - their chaotic revels have thinned or dissipated the clinging fog in some places.

Currently only Karrn and Galad have fog-granted concealment

Setil takes 5 ongoing acid damage (currently at 10/91 HP) and is up.

Good luck, I created half of the PC's for my f2f game and at least once a session I hear "Oh wait! That should have worked because..." Plus, it's easier f2f because they can chime in as it happens. On a pbp, there's soooo much stuff to track that nobody can blame you for missing a hidden +1. Anyways, you're doing great!

Male Deva Swordmage

Setil takes a second to reinvigorate himself. Standard action - second wind for 23 hp and +2 to all defenses. And spend an action point to use Cure Light Wounds for another 23.
He then repositions himself closer to the dragonborn. Move action - shift to M33
Finally, he speaks the words to an ancient abjuration, and a thin silvery mist forms around Sundered Heart and Setil. Minor action - Silversteel Viel gives SH and me a +2 to AC and Reflex until the end of my next turn.

New saves in case you wanted them: 17 vs. Slow, 1 vs. Acid, 6 vs. Weakened. Personally, I'd prefer the first batch.

No reason to discount the first batch, we'll stick with those. :)

Karrn: Despite Unfettered Power eating your attack, you still get to roll a Saving Throw (vs Slow), thanks to Chaos Burst.

Amid the chaos of battle Setil calmly centers himself, feeling the pain of his wounds diminish as he reasserts control of his body, purging the undead filth from his blood. Arcanic phrases congeal the rag-tag, straggling threads of mist into an ephemeral barrier as the deva moves to assist Sundered Heart.

SH is up, will wait a few hours for Radavel.

Bolstered by Setil's aid, Sundered Heart moves to flank his ghoulish adversary, though his stabbing thrust is casually batted aside. The barbarian's primal fury finally overcomes the debilitating weakness that plagues him, and he throws back his head and howls with unadultered, violent glee.

Didn't notice I forgot my save, 1d20=16

Never fear, never fear! Update tomorrow AM - busy weekend! Also, this coming week will be pretty tight for me, as I have a freelance project (for real $!) that will be keeping me busy while I am not daddying. I'll update as I can though.

female Human Druid 11 (Adroit Explorer 1)

Nice work on the freelancing. Interesting project or just financially rewarding?

Madda wrote:

Bit of both. Long time client who is in desperate need of some short-notice help. Par for the course with this fella, actually.

Peeling withered lips back in a snarl, Jurival lunges back into the fray, stray locks of filthy blonde hair dancing in the capricious breeze. Setil again bears the brunt of the assault, the once-priest's claws raking and rending despite the deva's arcanic mistborn barrier.

Scuttling sidewise away from the ancient, ghostly warrior in the midst of the melee, the other cadaverous ghoul narrows its eyes and explodes into the swirling mists with astonishing speed, hurtling into Galad, claws scrabbling at his throat. Twisting behind the tree-trunk, the deva manages to escape the worst of the blows, but the few scratches he takes are enough to send cramps to his calves and thighs, intense and agonizing.

#1 Move: Shift N34
#1 Standard: Claws vs Setil (AC): 33, 15 damage and Slowed (save ends), Bloodied again
#2 Move: Shift N36

Move to N36.

Savage Rend v Stalker 1 (Ref) (1d20 12=19, 1d10 10=17)

Madda is unable to overcome her revulsion, and misses again. Once more she curses her sensitive nose and contents herself with providing flanking for Setil. A low, menacing rumble rises in her throat.

female Human Druid 11 (Adroit Explorer 1)

Just extracting us from the archives. Blimey, things move down there fast these days.

Chaos Bolt on 2, 1d20+13=16 vs Will]. Yeah that's not hitting anything

Apologies for the unannounced (or incorrectly announced) absence of your beloved DM - I've a sudden influx of freelance design jobs that landed on my lap and are due no later than weekend of July 4, in addition daddy responsibilities, so while I do not want to shelve Madness long term, I will certainly be posting irregularly at very best until 6 July or so.

Thanks for your patience and understanding. :)

No worries, man. I am glad though to hear that work is booming considering the otherwise pessimistic financial environment.

Male Deva Shaman 2

I'm just glad you didn't get run over by a truck or something equally lethal.

Galad The Redeemed wrote:

Bah. I know you didn't think a truck would slow me down. :)

female Human Druid 11 (Adroit Explorer 1)

Just good to know you're still around. And with luck Madda might start hitting things a bit more once you come back.

Back at it, finally - hope y'all are still around! :)

The bedraggled and beaten but still frenzied stench-ghoul flings itself again at Setil, but the deva calmly steps away from the clacking, frothing jaws. Undeterred, the cadaverous foe slinks sidewise, seeking a better angle for its next attack.

The hunched form of the packleader moves as well, even as his sharp hiss cues Jurival to assist his craven attack on the beleaguered swordmage, who again interposes his swift-weaving blade in a solid parry.

Grimacing at the touch of consecrated steel, the packleader croaks yet another command, and his last minion surges at Galad, claws cutting fog, cloth and flesh with equal abandon. As his rapidly festering wounds begin to ache, Galad is struck with the whiplash slap of the creature's horrid tongue, the wicked toxins searing his hastily raised forearm to cracking blisters.

Madda: Misses (Rev, based on your statement re: flanking with Setil, I adjusted your movement to fit. Lemme know if you'd like it changed.)
#4 Recharge (6): 3 Nope.
#4 Standard: Ravenous Bite (AC) vs Setil: 22 misses.
#4 Move: Shift O32
#3 Move: Shift O33
#3 Standard: Ghoul Pack (AC) vs Setil grants #1 shift to M33, then 25 misses.
#3 Minor: Ghoulish Fervor grants #2 a Claw attack (AC) vs Galad: 35, 12 damage and 5 ongoing acid
Karrn: Yes, that misses.

Have him shout: "Freedom!!!!!!"

female Human Druid 11 (Adroit Explorer 1)

Very much around. Positioning is fine for Madda, particularly as she's managed to hit remarkably little during this fight. Guess she just doesn't like the great taste of ghoul. Fusspot.

Male Deva Shaman 2

The ghoul is dragged back by a gust of wind, and Galad summons forth another of his past lives to combat it, this one wearing a large suit of armor. As it slashes at the ghoul, Galad runs into the mists.

Using Primal Gust on 2, shifting it to 38L, using Past Life Guardian on 37L, then moving to 33H. Attack roll: 1d20+14=26, 3d8+9=15

Male Deva Swordmage

Setil dances around the fray to take up a position behind the ghoul's leader. Shift to P33.
Then he beseeches Pelor for any bit of defensive assistance while chopping at the ghoul, but to no avail. Priest's shield 17 vs. AC.
Setil desperately quaffs a healing potion. Minor action, spend surge and heal 10.

Glad to see Invisible Castle hasn't changed over the break.

LoL!

Opinions from all, please: How do you feel about migrating the game to a different site (myth-weavers.com, most likely)? Paizo's forums are beginning to tick me off. Answer here on in the discussion thread, no biggie either way.
