My groups and I have been running PF Beta for a while, and one of the groups is just starting the Skinsaw Murders.
Originally, with haunts, a cleric could attempt to turn them if he was able to act on the surprise round. All the haunts have 6 or 8 HD, meaning a 5th level cleric with an average Charisma would need to roll a 13 to turn any 6 HD haunts and a 19 to turn 8 HD ones. I imagine that most will be able to easily succeed on the 2d6+cleric level+Charisma mod to damage them (since against a 6 HD the 5th level cleric wouldn't even need to roll, and they only need to avoid snake eyes against 8HD).
The chance to turn increases more if they have just a smidgen of Charisma, or any feats that boost turning.
Now, with PF Beta, it's just pure damage. A cleric does 3d6 damage against undead with a Channel Positive Energy at 5th level. It was suggested (by James Jacobs I believe) that the haunts have average hit points for their HD. I am not sure whether they get a will save, I will assume they automatically fail it. Even then, a 6HD undead (d8) would have 27 hp. It is therefore impossible for, even on a max roll of 18, to destroy the haunt. More so for 8HD.
How should this be handled?

I am well aware of this. :) However, even in 3.5 there was no indication that 'fleeing' mattered to a haunt. The only thing that is indicated that matters was if the cleric could effect a creature of their HD.
If they should be given a Will save and then 'poof' if *that* fails, that's one thing. I would just have no idea how to give them a Will save. Give them 10 Wisdom? or more?

I see. I misunderstood. (I haven't read the rules for haunts, but know what they are in the AP.) Sorry.
