I'd recommend checking out Epica and then The Black Halo, since they combine to tell an adaptation of Goethe's Faust and are rock solid albums on their own. Watch out if you go after the earliest albums, since apparently they had a different sound a another lead singer back then(pre-Siege Perilous, I believe). That's how I got burned when I got my first Gathering album(wait...male lead singer...what?). Depends on what you're looking for of course. All the videos linked came from Ghost Opera.[/aside]
