I've got friends coming in from out of town, and we're planning a one night D&D game. Obviously we're more interested in fun characters and less in optimization, but my friend's character concept is too great not to try and make work (at least somewhat) from a mechanical point of view.
He's wanting one of his character's primary means of fighting to be literally throwing whatever is at hand at his enemies. I'm trying to find some feats that will allow him to do this without incurring massive negatives on regular basis. I found Throw Anything from Complete Warrior, but that feat should be called Throw Melee Weapon as one of the stipulations is you must be proficient with the weapon you throw.
That got me thinking and I could swear I remember a feat that gives you proficiency with Improvised Weapons, but it could be wishful thinking.
Any ideas? The only stipulation is it has to be from a full on 3.5 WotC book - no 3.0, no third party. Thanks for the input!

Complete Warrior also has the Drunken Master (with the class feature to treat improvised weapons as proficient) and Master Thrower prestige classes as well as the Ranged Disarm, Ranged Pin, and Ranged Sunder feats. Complete Adventurer has the Brutal Throw and Power Throw feats. Players Handbook II has the Grenadier and Mad Alchemist feats. Finally, there are the core Improved Unarmed Attack, Deflect Arrows, and Snatch Arrows feats (or just invest in gloves of arrow snaring).
Side note: It's not explicitly "in the rules," but if you're using Weapon Group Feats from Unearthed Arcana, you could always create an Improvised Weapon Group.

On the topic of throwing improvised weapons... this can be a real downer for a game. One of my players wanted to get an extra attack in his round so he threw his bastard sword. Yes - I know... I know... not "allowed" right?!? Like I said, it can really be a let down, especially after the other players jumped all over him and reminded him about penalties for trying to do so (...like -8 when finally calculated).
Look, v.3.5/PRPG are still my preferred games of choice.... but somethings gotta' give here! Last time I checked these games were supposed to be about IMAGINATION rather than ones ability to select an action off of a list. Any thoughts on this related to this posts topic. @Dragonchess - I totally respect your opinions.
