From the airport to your hotel

The nearest major airport is the Seattle-Tacoma in Seatac, which is south of Seattle. PaizoCon is in Bellevue, which is east of Seattle.

Last year after Gen Con, taking a taxi from the airport to my apartment in Seattle cost about $50, maybe $60.

When you figure out your hotel situation, call them and ask if they have a shuttle that can pick you up from the airport, how much it costs, and its hours of operation; it may be cheaper than taking a taxi.

You might also want to talk to other attendees to coordinate shuttle trips if you have the same hotel or a nearby hotel.

Sea-Tac is named so because it's between Seattle and Tacoma, and serves as the region's international airport. I believe its airport code is SEA.

The bus is a viable solution, but, yes, you would have to hop buses in downtown Seattle, and the bus won't drop you off AT the hotel. And be prepared for a 2-3 hr ride for the trip.

I only recommend renting a car if you are staying in the area longer than for just PaizoCon, to see the sites and stuff.

Now, if your site-seeing is limited to downtown Seattle (Pikes Place Market, Pioneer Square, SAM, Seattle Center) then taking a bus from Bellevue to downtown Seattle IS pretty fun and economic thing to do by Metro bus, because parking is real expensive in downtown Seattle, and the bus routes are pretty good.

I agree with Sean: work together as you arrive at the airport and things will be much, much cheaper. Your best bet is to use the King County Metro website here to find a bus to the Bellevue Transit Center which is right across the freeway from Coast Bellevue. (It looks like Route ST 560 is a direct route from Bay 2 at the airport to the Transit Center--it's a 50 minute bus ride but it's cheap.)

From the the BTC, you can either walk about eight blocks across NE 8th (over I-405) or catch a short taxi ride to the hotel. This is by far the cheapest option. If you want a direct ride to the Coast Bellevue, then group together and split a limo or taxi van or some sort of car service there at the airport.

Thanks for the linkies and recommendations gentlemen... Very much appreciated!

Just to reiterate:

Shuttle Express is a van service that will take you from Sea-Tac Airport to the Coast Hotel (or other Bellevue hotels) for $20.
