What will happen to Gen Con?

Off-Topic Discussions

Do you think with all the financial troubles Gen Con will go away or transform into something else? Perhaps be purchased by another company and become a new creature altogether?

No want! No want!

My understanding is that Gen Con Indy has been profitable, and their real problems came from branching out into events such as Gen Con So Cal and Star Wars Celebration IV. These each proved costly lessons, so I expect them to be sticking with what works—that is, focusing on Gen Con Indy, with some additional low-risk revenue from licensing (but not directly running) things like Gen Con UK and Gen Con Australia. So long as they don't head off that path for a few years, I think they'll be ok.

Rather afraid to sign up and attend again in the current climate...

And a Gen Con Paizo? :-)

Sovereign Court

Sorry to threadjack, but is Paizo planning to attend Gen Con UK this year? I'm just curious as there's a chance I might be in London by that time...

Nameless: There was a post somewhere saying that Gencon UK is extremely unlikely to happen this year.
Your best bet is if some of them attend PaizoconUK, set to be on July 11th/12th in Birmingham.

Thanks, Eric!

Glad to help, Nameless. Check out the "Paizocon" sub-forum near the top. One of the threads is for PaizoconUK. A location has now been booked.

The Exchange

Please do take a look at the PaizoCon UK thread. I seriously doubt that Paizo will be coming over to Europe or the UK this year. But that just means we'll have to work harder!
