I am looking to start up a campaign, and I have been going back and forth in my head between Osirion and the Mwangi Expanse. I have come to make up my mind and go with the Mwangi Expanse.
I was wondering if anyone could link me to some sites or tell me something more than what the Campaign Setting has for this region. I would not turn down some ideas and sources to draw inspiration from.
Thank you very much!

Go to pathfinder wiki, there isn't much detail there yet bar that on bloodcove.
But there will be soon enough.
What exactly do you want to know?
Have you bought the campaign setting? Cause its a great read.
Ideas? African jungle, explorers pluming the dark reaches, tribes among the trees, African myth, that movie where gorillas gain sentience and bloodthirstiness (Congo?), etc.
All is dark and untractable, lost cities hidden under vines, and violence could be behind every burst of shaded foliage.

River into Darkness is an adventure by the great Greg A. Vaughan* set in the Mwangi Expanse. It starts off in Bloodcove and takes you up the Vanji river. Even if you don't want to run it, I'd say that would be your first stop. I'm running a PbP on these boards based on that adventure called 'I Swallowed a Bug'.
* Yes, I said GREAT!

You might check out the Nyambe source material from Atlas.
A quick Google search also shows some campaign web sites for the setting.

You're probably not necessarily looking to buy another book... BUT... the Nyambe African Adventures Book and the Ancestral Vault are both good finds and can add a lot of flavor to what you're planning. You may not want to use the alternate races and base classes out out of it, but the items and weapons, as well as some of the monsters listed in the back of the book could be fun to drop in your campaign.
Edit: The boards are... well, doing their funky magic with my post, so this might show up twice. Another post in another thread appeared here... so Yeah. Anyway, looks like somebody has mentioned this while I was fighting with the board. But here it is again.

Thanks everybody for your quick responses. I have read the Campaign Setting which made me want to run something set here and Osirion as they are my two favourite areas.
I have looked into River into the Darkness, but I was wondering how much of it is set in Bloodcove vs. the Jungle itself? I am looking to set alot in the jungle itself.
I was pondering a Congo type of arc for the campaign as I thought it would work fairly well. I have yet to decide how to work it in as I haven't begun to work alot on the campaign ideas.
I was going to look into Nyambe, and I have before but it was out of print and/or hard to find. I may purchase a pdf to go through as needed.
Has anywhere in River into Darkness or anywhere in Pathfinder Society modules gone on about the lizardfolk tribes? I am looking to utilize them as they are by far my favourite creature.
Thanks again everyone!

Robert E. Howard wrote some great jungle-based fiction for his Conan stories. "Iron Shadows in the Moon," "The Pool of the Black One," "Queen of the Black Coast," "Jewels of Gwahlur," and "Beyond the Black River" are all excellent stories, although the theme of "the characters stumble upon the domain of powerful, primitive creatures from a lost age" can get a little repetitive.

I'm really eager to see more Mwangi stuff too. I'd love to see the major Mwanji cultures expanded upon, as well as a couple of those hidden civilizations.
IMO, Nyambe is worth looking into for certain cultural things, particularly the approach to gods, though I'm not big on many of the alternate races either.
I'm taking it for granted that there are more than a few Mokele-mbembes stomping around. ;)

River into Darkness stuff spoilered:
There is an encounter with lizardfolk in River into Darkness but they are away from their homebase at a holy site. Most of the module takes place on the river.
If you were looking to set your own adventures on the Vanji, you'd get about four sites that are interesting that you could exploit: Bloodcove, Whitebridge Station, Nightfall Station, and Brimstone Falls. There's also a map of the Lower Vanji River System and a boat The River Queen that you could use.

I nabbed the three Nyambe books from the Paizo store just last month (January). Check here for the PDFs and books, they appear to still be available :) And they are great!

Ooh, the Nyambe books look very cool. Thanks for posting that link.
BTW, while walking about a fantasy Africa, has anyone here ever read the Imaro books?

Seems like this might be some useful info for building up a Mwangi campaign. Ruins of the Swahili Coast.
More detailed info (with pics) here.

You can also check out his Solomon Kane stories that take place in "Darkest Africa" or try some Alan Quartermain stuff. Also IIRC wasn't Conrad's Heart of Darkness set in Africa?
