Is this tactics game turn based on a grind the D&D tactics for PSP?

Sovereign Court

turn based; different speeds for each action (fast, normal, slow, each with a numerical value so if you apply a speed boost to a fast action, it will resolve before a regular fast action etc.) so a fast claw swipe by Black Panther can result in him attacking twice before the bad guys go.

Sovereign Court

Tried it, got bored, still play it on occasion and always returning gifts n stuff.

Sovereign Court

i couldn't resist and shelled 30 bucks to get Scarlet Witch, Hawkeye, Klaw, Taskmaster and Sif... game much better with these low Command Point heroes

How does it compare to the regular "Avengers Alliance?" I like M:AA, but at high levels fights can take *forever* to resolve. If I play a
Flash game I want something I can finish up in 15 minutes or so, not something that takes hours at a stretch to grind through.

I gave it a try but repeating freezes and crashes repelled me for now (every crash means waste of internet and I am on a monthly limit for now).

Drejk: the crashes are getting better... a month ago it was bad, like they released the beta or something; I have a cpu with XP and it just plain doesn't work on that one; however, my laptop with Windows 7 works like a charm for this game.

TarSpartan: the game is so much better than M:AA... so much so that I have stopped M:AA after 3 years of playing... however, it takes even longer to start/load/play than M:AA. The fights compare to turn based games like Baldur's Gate / Torment except it is initiative based like M:AA (fight is resolved by moving your character on the map and then selecting an attack mode; each character with different movement rates and thus can use different tactics i.e. melee vs. ranged; you have one attack mode at level 1, two at level 2, three at level 6; four at level 9; just like M:AA) Just like M:AA you must send heroes on jet missions to earn cash, and farm shield points through facebook friends, and get command points once in a while with successful missions or boss drops; however, the ISO 8 is produced by an ISO refinery instead of farming it through facebook friends. You must upgrade your barracks, vault, command center, refineries too... not just your heroes. So it's not only hero development, it's also SHIELD Base development. They also introduce the "regular SHIELD agent" - you can buy these suckers for cheap, only 10 CP. They're crap in a fight against 90 CP wolverine or hulk, LOL, but a level 5 goon brings you as much cash as a level 5 hulk when you send them on quinjet missions to earn silver. So you level up your useless goons to send them on cash missions, that way you can keep your real Marvel heroes at the SHIELD base and assign them on building defense (oh yeah, if you leave your base undefended, other players come empty your vault of ALL YOUR SILVER and ISO 8 mineral... not good)

In short: it's awesomer than M:AA :)

update: it's becoming a bit of a grind for SHIELD points... my heroes are level 6 and I can farm about 50,000 silver a day, but I find myself unable to use the cash as all the weapon/ability/level upgrades ALSO require SHIELD points... in addition to silver... and sometimes in addition to ISO... it's a game of patience that's for sure

Thanks for the recaps. It sounds like something I'll have to try. One more question -- are there special quest levels like in M:AA, where you have to perform all of these impossible tasks for a chance to earn a special character? I've managed to finish two of them in M:AA, but that's because I don't want to spend real money on power-ups, and getting enough special ISO-8 to finish is the luck of the draw.

Sovereign Court

yes, there will be! there is a spec ops tab indicating "coming soon", but nothing as of yet

there is also a PVP tab showing "coming soon" as well

so if you get on the bandwagon now you'll be experiencing the upcoming spec ops from the start, as they happen...

I played the first Avenger's Alliance, but was really let down that I could not link my Facebook account and my iPhone, but Android users could. Also, as soon as it got to the point that I could no longer level up my heroes without buying in-game currency with real money(to buy the correct S.H.I.E.L.D. token to level them up) I flat out quit.

Hummmm... I have Android and the first Marvel Avengers Alliance has never worked as far as I can tell. They have an Android Marvel Avengers Alliance app yes, but it is its own separate game (not the same version as the computer/laptop version). My Android phone is linked to Facebook, and when I downloaded Marvel Alliance, the phone version started from the beginning (with the first tutorials and all that stuff...)

Unless they have fixed it and we can play the full version from our Android phones via some kind of browser? if you know the answer to that please let me know as that would be better for the commute compared to that dreaded Marvel Puzzle Quest, which drains 1% of my phone battery every 5 seconds...
