Hello everyone,
i am wondering how to handle an Antimagic Field that is cast by a huge or larger creature.
The text says it is a 10 ft. emanation centered on you but if 'you' are larger than the ever 5'6" medium human, does it extend by your size. So 10 ft. means 10 ft away from you skin or does it mean "ancient dragon antimagicked his belly nothing else".
Any suggestions?

I am 70% certain that it origionates off of the point in space at the middle of your square, 10 feet out. I say this because I beleive I recall a Sage Advice answering to that effect.
I personally disagree with that and run it as a 10 emanation off of the edge of your square. This makes the math easier, and makes some spells such as Fire Blast (5' emanation) make sense for Large and larger spellcasters to take.
Most dragons can actually attack outside of the emanation, due to reach. And in the end, whoever is inside the emanation is missing out on all those nice gear bonuses. While the dragon....is not.
Another thing to consider, using the other version: 10' radius emanation is still 20' diameter, which properly delinates as a gargantuan creature. G>H>L>M means the creature is 3 steps larger than your average PC, and thus able to walk freely over them. And then park on top of them, attacking them while they are now inside the field.

I don't doubt that the Sage gave such an answer, but I question his correctness if he did. The general rules for area spells are clear enough (PHB, page 175):
Regardless of the shape of the area, you select the point where the spell originates, but otherwise you don’t control which creatures or objects the spell affects. The point of origin of a spell is always a grid intersection.
That having been said, the antimagic field spell description states: "An invisible barrier surrounds you and moves with you." I take that to mean that if you are a colossal creature, the field nevertheless covers your entire body. And since I think it would be cheesy and lame for the spell to cover only your entire body and nothing more, I personally rule that it extends another 10 feet around you.
But I honestly haven't got a clue what the "official answer" is to this question.

Hello everyone,

Fairly certain I just settled this.
There is way too much focus on the "Centred on you" line and not enough on two other crucial details.
"An invisible barrier surrounds you and moves with you."
So none of that silly "Only the dragons belly has an anti magic field!" The field covers all of you, regardless of your size.
"10-ft.-radius emanation"
Can we google the definition of that word really quick?
Issue or spread out from (a source): "warmth emanated from the fireplace"; "she felt charm emanating from him".
So with this understanding, we rule that an Anti-magic field covers an entire creature, regardless of size, plus 10 feet spread out beyond him. Additionally, it doesn't matter if your munchkin PC's make themselves Colossal, cast this spell, then return to Medium size… in each case the Anti-Magic Field covers them and emanates in a 10-ft radius beyond them.
Hope this helps! It's helped me, and I came here with the same question.
