Hi there,
I was doing some checking last night on what the most efficient number of Pathfinder RPGs is to get the minimum price per book including postage to Australia.
According to the postage calculator, postage for 1-3 books is $45 after that it increases dramactically. This of course means that multiples of 3 books (in separate orders) is the optimim amount to pre-order.
My question is this, how accurate is the postage calculator considering the book hasn't been printed yet??

I would guess pretty accurate: see the November 27th blog where they show a 'white sample' of that book so they know the detentions and the weight already

The postage calculator is 100 percent accurate -- we charge you to ship the order what we tell you at the time you place the order. Sometimes on products we get kinda screwed because we didn't have a proper form factor in the system, so the order ends up costing more for us to ship than we charged you. We eat that cost (to your benefit).
For this product we updated the form factor once we got the sample book. International shipping got more expensive last year when the USPS eliminated all of its "slow boat" services in favor of Priority Mail International and First Class Mail International.

The cheapest way to ship an item over 4 pounds (like the Pathfinder RPG) to international customers is using a USPS International Priority Flat Rate Box—this is a special box where the cost is based on volume, not on weight. Thus, whether we ship one book or three in it, the shipping cost is the same. However, we apparently can't fit four copies of the RPG into it, so that's why you're seeing what you're seeing.
