Howdy.
I am a newbie PbP DM, thinking about running Second Darkness via 4th Ed. I am in the middle of running a real-life Curse of the Crimson Throne campaign in 4E and think the campaigns convert easily. I am looking for 5 PCs but will maintain some alternates, if demand is high.
Character creation would be using standard 22-point buy and anything in the WotC Character Builder is legal (ie, anything in a book or e-zine). Obviously, the setting will be Golarion, but we can probably manage to squeeze a Forgotten Realms concept into the setting, if you're dying to use something FR. If you have access to the Second Darkness Player's Guide, we can talk about adapting traits to 4E.
For mapping, I will be starting with Aubrey's coordinate system (if you haven't checked out either of his long-running PbPs, you should), since I am not yet skilled in Adobe Illustrator (though I'm hoping to change that soon).
I check the boards frequently and would expect any player to post at least once every other day (once per day is preferable).
Any interest?

Great.
So, as of now (assuming Badslack is leaning toward wizard), we have either a leader, a striker, and 2 controllers, or a leader, 2 strikers, and a controller. Looks like we need a defender (although that is not a requirement).
Pat - I hope you go with one of the new classes. I'm curious to see how they go.
Amelia - Re: Channel Divinity, the easiest move here is to steal the Sune Channel Divinity feat from FRCG.
In case you don't own it:
Shelyn's Touch
Invoking Shelyn's name, you help an ally against a challenging foe.
Encounter - Divine
Minor Action Close burst 1
Target: One ally in burst
Effect: The target gains a +2 power bonus to his or her next attack roll or skill check made before the end of your next turn.

A bit of background:
You are all residents of Riddleport, third largest city in Varisia (after Korvosa and Magnimar). As the old saying goes, you have never seen a more wretched hive of scum and villainy than Riddleport, nestled as it is at the mouth of the Velashu River.
Known as the City of Cyphers, due to its famous Thassilonian monument, the Cyphergate, Riddleport was once a secret pirate haven, which has grown over the last three centuries into a port city in its own right. While Riddleport has grown into a proper city, it remains true to its roots - you can get rich quick in Riddleport if you've got skill and a bit of luck, though for every Riddleport success story there are a dozen nameless bodies buried in potters' fields or tossed to the hungry denizens of the sea.
If you have the Character Builder, feel free to choose one of the Scales of War background traits, but be sure to include it in your character's background.
Also, the start-up will be smoothest if there is at least passing familiarity between your character and one other character in the party. I realize this is harder to do online, but if you want to chat about character backgrounds, feel free to do so in the Discussion thread which I will start up soon.

Sure. We'll just hope that the PHB2 will be out before we hit 4th level.

Would a Tiefling Warlord be welcome?
EDIT: I don't have the builder but I do have the Dragon Magazine where the traits were featured.
Sounds good.
That gives us ...
Half-Elf Warlock (Striker)
Tiefling Warlord (Leader)
Human (?) Cleric of Shelyn (Leader)
Human (?) Warden (Defender)
Human (?) Wizard (?) (Controller)
This gives us a good group and a full roster ...
Now let's just hope I can keep all the "War..." classes separate in my head.
