Another volley of arrows comes flying out of the rain from behind the customs house. They are aimed at Grunthor, Damandor and the smuggler beside the crate. All three of them are ineffective, sailing past the three harmlessly.
Round one volley of arrows. (1d20+3=5, 1d8=3, 1d20+3=11, 1d8=7, 1d20+3=10, 1d8=3)

The cultist at N7 (who was hit by Eland’s magic missile) rushes forward to K7 and swings his scimitar at the smuggler, his blade cutting deeply. With a groan, the man sinks to the ground, clutching his wound painfully as he lapses into unconciousness.

The masked cultist at N8 continues his run and engages Damandor from J8. Attack on Damandor. (1d20+3=11, 1d8+2=6) However, the cleric fends the attack off easily.

The final cultist, who was attacked by Ivan, releases a vicious attack with his scimitar in return. Attack on Ivan. (1d20+3=19, 1d8+2=4 hp damage) The blade cuts into the broad man’s chest, tearing his shirt and leaving a dark stain of blood.

Flint and Anyssa can post actions now. The cultists have now moved to K7, J8 and M10, the smugglers are still flat footed in their original positions. There are obviously archers behind the customs house, although nobody except for Damandor and Grunthor has a clear view of them.

female human Fighter 2

Anyssa draws her starknives as she moves forward to attack the cultist at K7.

First roll is a natural 20 (+3)= 23 to hit, confirmation roll 3 (+3) = 6, so probably not. 2 damage. (grumble) Second roll (using TWF) 17 (+3)= 20. Presuming that hits, 3 damage.

Anyssa the Clumsy wrote:

Despite her apparent clumsiness, the slight girl slips easily through the fray. One of the cultists swings his scimitar at her as she passes but she dodges easily to one side. The cultist she has targeted turns to face her, raising his scimitar in defence. However, Anyssa cuts under his guard, slashing him deeply with both blades in one deft maneuver and dropping him where he stands.

Attack of opportunity on Anyssa by one of the cultists as she moves into position. (1d20+3=15, 1d8+2=3) a near miss.

Flint is up next, then the smugglers. There are two smugglers remaining on the dock (at I9 and J9) and one on the skiff. One cultist at J8 currently fighting Damandor and possibly Grunthor. There is also one cultist at M10 fighting Ivan and several archers out of sight at around TUV6-8

Are you still with us, Flint? You're up.

Male Dwarf Druid lv:2

Sorry the boards weren't working for me earlier.
Flint moves to assist An, flinging acid at the smuggler(but staying back so as to not provoke and AoO for the ranged attack).
Acid Bolt: 13 ranged touch but only 3 points of damage.

Flint Earthbrother wrote:

No worries – it’s irritating when that happens, hey?

Flint Earthbrother wrote:

Flint thrusts his hand forward, palm open as he summons a gout of acid which splashes over the smuggler making him cry out in pain and surprise. The sturdy dwarf then strides forward to stand between Ivan and Anyssa, ready to take further action.

The two smugglers finally respond to the chaos erupting around them. The red headed woman shouts a command to her remaining henchman and they swiftly make a dash out along one of the piers, preparing to rendezvous with the smuggler on the skiff. As they run through the rain, their leader clutches the coffer you delivered close to her chest.

If they wish, either Damandor or Grunthor can make an attack of opportunity on either the red-headed leader or the smuggler that Flint hit with acid as they dash past.

This map shows the state of play at the start of round two.

The smugglers are about to pile onto the skiff and make a run for it. It appears that the three cultists behind the customs house are readying another volley of arrows. The masked men currently fighting you are pressing the attack fiercely.

Garret, Ivan, Eland, Damandor and Grunthor can act before the cultists (feel free to post in any order).

M Caliban Barbarian 8

Grunthor will do:

1. Draw Great Sword
2. Go into rage (a free action)
3. Attempt to turn the cultist in front of me into goo.
d20+6+2(rage) = 12+7 = 20
Damage=2d6+6+2 = 16
Take that you scum bag.

Grunthor Firbolg wrote:

With a bestial cry, Grunthor lifts his greatsword high and swings it down through the rain in a vicious arc. The cultist tries frantically to block the descending sword, but the savage blow knocks his scimitar aside with ease. The masked figure staggers to one side under the force of the blow, collapsing in a heap on the ground as the enraged barbarian cuts him down.

Don't forget the poison is still in your body. Grunthor needs to make a DC15 fortitude save each round until he succeeds. Each round that he fails he takes one more point of non-lethal damage.

Ivan continues to grapple his opponent. CMB:23

Male Human Enchanter 1

Eland casts Daze on the cultist at J8. He then moves to F6 to get a line of sight on the cultist firing from behind the customs building.

M Caliban Barbarian 8

The rage must have destroyed the remainder of the poison as I rolled a 19 + 6= 25.

Male Elf Cleric 2 (Corellon Lorethian)

Damandor ignores the smugglers as they run past him, as they are not attacking the party. As he drops his crossbow to the ground he says to Grunthor, "Too bad they don't stay and fight with us, with their help we could easily defeat these usurpers, but defeat them we will anyway. Let me help you with those wounds you have received."

Casts Cure Light Wounds on Grunthor, substituting for Magic Weapon, healing Grunthor of 5 hp of damage (1d8+1, 5=4+1).

Damandor chants briefly in a language other then common, and then gestures and reaching out, lays his hand on Grunthor healing him with a surge of energy granted to him by Corellon. He says to Grunthor, "That is the best I can do for now until I can have a better look at those wounds."

He then draws his longsword and prepares to face the attacker in front of him.

Ivan Boldreiva wrote:

This time, Ivan succeeds in getting a secure grip on the masked man. Twisting one arm painfully behind the cultist's back, the skilled wrestler traps his opponent's scimitar against the struggling man's body, preventing him from getting a clear swing.

You're both grappling now. If he doesnt break your hold you get a +5 bonus in subsequent rounds and can inflict damage, move him, pin him, etcetera

Eland Westlocke wrote:

Since I allowed you all to post in any order, Grunthor has already killed the cultist at J8 even though you technically acted first. I'll assume you move to F6 and release your daze spell at one of the archers instead.

Moving to get a clear view of the hidden attackers, Eland reaches into his pouch and produces a small pinch of wool, muttering an incantation as he does so. The cultist shakes his head briefly before reaching for another arrow as he shrugs off the effect.

Cultist attempts to resist daze spell. (1d20=16)

Garret's up next, then the cultists. The only visible opponent is the one Ivan is currently grappling. Although, he knows roughly where the archers are.

Male Human Monk 1

Ivan twist the man's arm, forcing his head down, wrapps his other arm around the man's head, and gives a powerful twist

Damage; further grapple check: 8, 22

this assumes the man did not break from my grip

This will be next round, there's a few more still to act this round.

Are you still around Garret?

Male Halfling Rogue/Sorcerer/Arcane Trickster

Sorry, lost track of this somehow.

Garret moves out of the alleyway. K10

Garret Highhill wrote:

No trouble. If you wanted to, from there you can see and would be able to fire an arrow at the cultist at T6.

Male Halfling Rogue/Sorcerer/Arcane Trickster

I'll do that then.

Garret fires an arrow at one of the cultists.
1d20+4=10, 1d4-1=2

Garret Highhill wrote:

1d20+4=10, 1d4-1=2

Garret fires his bow at one of the cultists, however it sails wide and lands in the sea. The three masked cultists each also release another arrow, firing on Eland, Damandor and Grunthor. None of them hit their target, two sailing wide and the third turned aside by Damandor's armor.

Arrow attacks on Eland, Damandor, Grunthor (1d20+3=6, 1d8=3, 1d20+3=13, 1d8=3, 1d20+3=6, 1d8=7)
The cultist grappling Ivan struggles desperately against the stronger man, however is unable to wrench himself free of the wrestler’s hold.
Cultist attempts to break Ivan's hold. (1d20+2=14)

Flint and Anyssa are up next. The cultist at M10 is being held fast by Ivan, the three behind the customs house seem to be readying another volley of arrows.

female human Fighter 2

Are the three by the customs house close enough for me to move and attack one of them? If they are then that is what I do. (19+3=)22 and (4+3=)7 to hit. (2+1=)3 damage.

By my reckoning you're just out of range. One move doesnt get you close enough, so you'll need to spend the full round moving into position (S6?). Next round you'll be able to make a full attack and use both your starknives. The only way you could attack this round is if you wanted to move partway there and throw a knife.

I knew I should have bought more than two knives. :( Oh well. Yeah, I'll just move into position this round.

Anyssa the Clumsy wrote:

Anyssa darts off into the rain, running at the archers with knives held ready. It seems like they are going to stand their ground.

Flint, then the smugglers remain able to act this round. Ivan looks to have the man beside you under control, so far only Anyssa has engaged the other three.

Male Dwarf Druid lv:2

Flint takes a five foot step to Flank with Ivan and to hit the man in Ivan's grip with the flat of his blade for nonlethal damage(-4 to attack roll)
Scimitar
Melee:14=14-4+2+2(flank bonus)
Nonlethal Damage:4=2+2

Shouts "Keep one alive! We may be able to find out who sent them!"

You will have to move more than five feet to get a flanking bonus (you'll need to move to N10). However, since the cultist has been grappled he can’t make any attacks of opportunity, so this is relatively safe.

Flint steps behind the cultist who is struggling with Ivan and brings the hilt of his scimitar down hard on the man's head. He groans loudly, but remains conscious.

The surviving smugglers rapidly pile into the skiff which then pushes away from the pier and slips into deeper waters through the rain. Standing in the bow looking back at you, the red headed woman watches as you struggle against the cultists. Soon the boat disappears into the gloomy darkness, your view obscured by the falling rain and intervening ships moored nearby.

Here are the positions at the start of round three. (Garret – I screwed up last round, you couldn’t have fired from K10 so I’ve put you at J9 instead – sorry about that, I don’t know what I was thinking).

Ivan has posted his actions for this round, although after dropping the cultist, you can also make a move action if you wish, Ivan.

Ivan Boldreiva wrote:

With a short jerk, Ivan crunches bone against bone. The cultist groans loudly before lapsing into unconsciousness.

Next to post (in any order): Garret, Eland, Damandor, Grunthor.

Male Human Enchanter 1

Eland steps up and uses crate for cover. He fires crossbow at cultist at T7.

fires crossbow at cultist (1d20+2-4=18) crit confirmation = 0, damage = 5

Male Elf Cleric 2 (Corellon Lorethian)

Producing a piece of parchment with something written on it from his belt pouch, Damandor speaks an incantation, once again speaking the same language that he used before. He speaks not loudly, but would be heard by those close by. He then once again touches Grunthor, and as he does says, "This may keep you from being hit again."

Damandor casts Shield of Faith on Grunthor.

Damandor then moves towards the archers cautiously.

Damandor moves towards the corner of the customs building at square O9.

Eland Westlocke wrote:

Moving up to kneel beside the crate, Eland levels his crossbow at the cultists and releases a bolt. One of the masked bowmen beside Anyssa is hit square in the chest. He staggers slightly but remains standing.

Damandor Yolanux wrote:

Damandor moves towards the corner of the customs building at square O9.

A shimmering field forms about the enraged Grunthor, providing him some added protection from attacks.

Grunthor and Garret are next, then it's any surviving cultists.

Male Human Monk 1

Dropping his defeated enemy, Ivan moves forward towards the crate.

forward six squares to R10 I think.

M Caliban Barbarian 8

Grunthor expends another rage point to remain enraged and CHARGES in a straight line of 50' to S7 and attacks cultist at T7.

He rolls an 11 + 6 + 2 for rage + 2 for CHARGE = 21.
Damage = 10+6 =16.

Hia AC is now 16 -2 for rage, -2 for CHARGE & +2 for Shield of faith = 14.

M Caliban Barbarian 8

Sorry, that was an attack of 20, not 21. The 6 S.B. a 5.

Male Halfling Rogue/Sorcerer/Arcane Trickster

Garret moves upward and fires another shaot at the cultists.

Moving to 6K, attack: 1d20+4=21, 1d4-1=3

Grunthor Firbolg wrote:

With a roar, Grunthor charges across the docks at one of the remaining cultists. The masked man tries in vain to step to one side, but the barbarian runs him through with his greatsword, dropping him where he stands.

Garret Highhill wrote:

Garret shoots at the cultist furthest from the fray, the arrow hitting the masked man squarely in the chest.

The two remaining attackers both discard their shortbows and draw scimitars. As the first cultist attacks her clumsily, Anyssa dodges easily to one side.
Attack on Anyssa (1d20+1=3, 1d6=2)

The second steps forward to confront the enraged barbarian. Oblivious to this new threat, Grunthor fails to defend himself in time before suddenly feeling a sharp pain as the slicing blade cuts him deeply.
Attack on Grunthor (1d20+1=18, 1d6=6 damage)
He has taken a five foot step to T7.

Next to act are Flint and Anyssa. The only remaining NPCs are at T6 (fighting Anyssa) and at T7 (fighting Grunthor).

female human Fighter 2

Anyssa slices at the man in front of her.

(13+3)=16 and (5+3)=8 to hit. Presuming the first one hits, it does (4+1)= 5 damage.

Male Dwarf Druid lv:2

Flint moves to O7 and fling acid at the cultist at T7
Ranged Touch:8=7+1
If that hits
Acid Damage:4=3+1
He then shouts
"Come and face me you fool tall ones! Or do you fear a dwarf who call upoun the forces of Nature?!?"
It is clear he enjoys fighting in the storm.

Anyssa the Clumsy wrote:

Anyssa's blades flash through the air, the cultist fends one off with his scimitar, but the other cuts deeply. Without flinching, and despite the overwhelming odds before them, he prepares to return the attack.

The scene is lit briefly by a flash of lightning and there is a loud crash of thunder as Flint's second gout of acid shoots wide of the mark. The cultists ignore his shouted challenge, pressing their attack on Anyssa and Grunthor.

Here are the positions at the start of round four.

Next to post, in any order:
Garret
Ivan
Eland
Damandor
Grunthor

Male Halfling Rogue/Sorcerer/Arcane Trickster

Garret moves forward and fires another shot.

Moving to O6, attack: 1d20+5, 1d4=[1, 5], [1]

Male Elf Cleric 2 (Corellon Lorethian)

Damandor hurries around the far side of the customs house to stand next to Grunthor. He then attacks the masked enemy in front of Grunthor with his longsword.

Moves 30' to square S8, then attacks with longsword 1d20+2 (1d8+2). Rolls 6=4+2 to hit, and on the off chance I do hit, 3 hp damage (3=1+2).
