Highly recommend this show if you get Showtime in your area.

Fantastic actor playing Dexter. Good stories, very dark and creepy sometimes.

The English chick in season 2 had some nice bewbies.

And Vince Masuka is absolutely hilarious.

This show is awesome.

There are two series out on DVD and the third just finished.

Great show that sucks you in and you can't but help like the serial killer. :)

We got given the first season for Christmas. Almost finished it now - I'm thoroughly enjoying it. Unfortunately, the second season isn't available on DVD in the UK until 30th March, so I'm going to have to wait a bit to see more. :(

Scarab Sages

Damn.

2nd season dexter has been out since at least Novemeber here in Australia. That would be a first... Australia got something before England!

Yeah, it seems to be pretty slow in the UK (I'm in Scotland, by the way :-p). Fortunately, I just found out that one of the TV channels has just started showing season 2, and I was just in time too. The first episode played last Thursday, but there's a repeat tonight. So I can keep watching for a little while yet. :D

I've seen all 3 seasons so far, and I can honestly say the 1st season is the best. The 2nd season has some good episodes, which you'll see eventually, but it also introduces a couple not so good characters. We also say goodbye to a couple characters as well, so they're not afraid to kill them off which is nice.

Season 3 is a little different, probably my least favourite, but I'm hoping that season 4 brings us back the original Dexter and explains how he can continue his nocturnal activities while adapting to his new lifestyle.

has anyone read the books? by Jeff lindsay? there the basis for the series, I've seen 3 at the local book store. in season 3 Vince Masuka gets all non sleazy, trying to be a perfessional

I have had nothing to do with the books.

Masuka is so funny in season 3. He does get all super series... and then he...

Damn... how do you insert a spoiler into a post?

The books are atrocious, really not worth reading, poor prose (the guy seems to be obsessed with alliteration, it gets old fast), two dimensional supporting characters, and some really bizarre plot points. The series changed quite a bit from day one (including the ending of the first series, after which they mostly diverged from the books plot except for some very loose points) which was a smart move.

I agree series one is by far the best, I think both series 2 and 3 had issues of meandering around a lot and then wrapping everything up really quickly. Especially series three, it just didn't engage me at all until episode 10, where I finally started sitting up and paying attention, only to realise that they were going to have to wrap the whole thing up in two episodes.

Spoiler:
I'm also wondering if they're ever going to stop using the plotline of "Dexter meets someone he thinks might actually understand him, in a not-so-shocking twist this person turns out to be an utter whackjob, Dexter kills them, the end."

Sadly, all the assets in world didn't stop Lila from being incredibly annoying...
