In the Blog of, I guess it's been a few days now, whenever, the one with Rombard the Goat and la chupacabra. In that Blog post, we learn that Rombard the Goat is an important NPC - so important he gets a stat block? D&D has needed goat stats for a long time now, will this be our big goat break? Since everyone knows gnomes ride goats like humans ride horses and halflings ride dogs, it'll be really nice to finally have stats for our gnome PCs' mounts.
Hooray for Goats!

of course, the PC's will be trying to save it from some menace, only to later discover that the goat is a cunning foe that will betray them at the climax of the adventure.
after all, everyone know that an NPC with a goatee is an obvious traitor

Rombard gets a "Treat him as a donkey" stat block. He's important, but not enough so to get a full stat block.
Which branches nicely into my standing rant that we have effectively 8 stat blocks for "Horses" (light, heavy, light war, heavy war, pony, war pony, mule, donkey) but not a single one for goat (or cow, or hippo, or alligator, or any number of other more interesting animals).

Well, the Bison stat block is supposed to be good for "almost any large herd animal" (like cows or the endangered Saskatchewan land-hippo).

I want stats for a goat! And a dire goat! And a war goat! One a dwarf can ride! Something inspiring! like this: Dwarven Paladin
(yes, I know its a big horned sheep but work with me people.)Death to all demonic horses everywhere (they steal your souls I say)

Not to ruin a good joke, but there are stats for a dire goat (and dire ram) in the Tome of Horrors (Revised).
EDIT: Working backwards from the Dire Goat there, I present you with the goat itself.

Trample (Ex): Reflex DC 10 half. The save DC is Strength-based.
Note: I've been looking into this for a while anyway as orcs and half-orcs are nomadic herdsmen in the campaign setting I've been developing.
Additional Note: The Tome of Horrors is definitely one of the greatest third party books for 3rd edition. Go buy it if you don't have it.

Can we thus expect a higher quality of animal representation in the Pathfinder Bestiary?

Because Elric/Fafhrd/Aragorn spends more fighting opponents on horseback than on cowback/hippoback/goatback, I presume. Variety is the spice of life. :-)

Elric/Fafhrd/Aragorn weren't Minoan/This Chick/Gnomish.
