inspired by this thread I would like to know what you gave this year. I bought my wife a new black velvet dress and matching white blouse, two sweaters, to new summer tops, and a 1/5 carot dimand heart pendent. I bought my two daughters a new Barbie each, and each of my boys got a new Transformer. I also sat outside for two hours on Christmas Eve in the snow putting together a basketball hoop that Santa had dropped off unassembled. I don't like this new Santa as much as the one we had when I was a kid that assembled all the stuff before he left.

For my son, a cthulhu puppet, a drum, a sled, a lightsaber, a dinosaur battle board game, a monster book (drawn by me), a couple of books, a subscription to National Geographic Kids which came with an inflatable globe, a foam bowling set, a puzzle, and an assortment of small vehicles.
For my husband, a bunch of little stuff he didn't really like :(
And I have a tacky regift for my sister who started the tacky present war last year with the mist fountain regift. This could go on for many years. My other sister got a digital photo keychain and a teddy bear for my nephew. A book for my dad, a weather cast for my father-in-law, and I made jewelry for my sister-in-law and niece. Plus fudge and handmade christmas ornaments for my gaming and writer's groups.

We're on a reallllyyy tight budget this year, so we agreed to only get presents for the kids.
Harrison, age 7, got an inexpensive digital video camera designed for kids.
Xander, age 2, got a Spiderman Scooter sized for small children.
My nephew, Mason, age 9, got a boardgame called Haunted Ruins that is a sort-of Indiana Jones/Tomb Raider/King Solomon's Mines type of game.
The adults mostly have sat around, watched the kids play, and have eaten a lot of very good food.

See in my case it was the exact opposite. I knew that the rest of the family had the kids more than covered, so I mostly got things for my wife. I only got the kids gifts when I got a big Wal-Mart gift card as my holiday bonus at work.
