So, Christmas day is mostly done, and i return to doing things I should have been doing all day. As a last moment of permissible procrastination, I find my self wondering, what lovely gastronomic treats you have all been having on this fine day.

I, for the first time in years, for fortunate enough to have something other than turkey, of which I am very glad. Duck is far more palatable.

So share, what lovely nibbles have you all had, or yet have to look forwards too.

I cooked keishka, kasha, and peiroghis today. Food coma hitting about now. Not with family today for the first time, so I cooked what looked yummy, thus family tradition of having either turkey or ham be damned. ;)

Organic grain-fed standing rib roast, potatoes au gratin, asparagus, green beans almondine, smoked salmon, brie.

Waiting on the prime rib, which just came out of the oven and is resting before it gets carved...stuffed shrimp just went in the oven, and there are various side dishes that won't be opened until dinner is ready.

In the meantime, I'm camped out next to the veggie tray...I feel like a rabbit.

*Insert rant about calling non-prime rib roast prime rib here* :)

(My standing rib roast wasn't prime, though it was very good organic beef)

I made a lovely roast duck for me (although my dad helped me finish it off) and ham for the rest of them. I'm not a real big fan of ham, but it's the one time of year when I make it anyways. Plus green beans, baked sweet potatoes, garlic mashed potatoes, stuffing, and cranberry-tangerine relish for sides.
Alas there was a culinary disaster with the plum pudding, but everyone was so full from dinner that it wasn't much noticed.
