Pathfinder - Child's Play Online Charity Auction

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

Hey all. So with all the snow we haven't exactly had a chance to hype this as much as I would like to, but right now we here at Paizo are hosting an online auction to benefit sick kids, children's hospitals, and the next generation of gamers through Child's Play. Child's Play is the brain child of the gamers over at Penny Arcade and donates money, toys, games, and such to children's hospitals across the world - helping to make life for sick youngsters a little brighter. You can find out way more about them on the Child's Play website.

To help in what little way we can, we're auctioning off a signed, collector's item copy of the Pathfinder Campaign Setting. In addition, a few months down the road here, the auction's winner will also receive a thoroughly signed copy of the final, huge, hardbound, Pathfinder Roleplaying Game and the Pathfinder Bestiary. The proceeds from this auction all go to help out Child's Play.

At the time of this writing the bidding for these one-of-a-kind items is a good way below the retail value of the books, so go put your bid in for a whole library of some of the coolest tomes in gaming history and help out some kids who really need it.

You can check out the Paizo - Child's Play Online Charity Auction here.

Thanks to everybody who checks it out and happy holidays!

Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo~!

RPG Superstar 2011 Top 16

I saw the link at ENWorld, and wouldn't you know it? I'm the first to bid! And by the time I finish this little bragging post, I'll probably be outbid!

I'm totally bidding on this when I get home.

Scarab Sages

Just bid to have my 15 minutes of fame... all the best everyone. :)

Whoa! Awesome guys! Thanks a ton! And know that we'll get the whole staff and a ton of designers to sign these to make each book SUPER SPECIAL for the winner.

I may just bid on this, even though I probably can't afford to be paying that much for it right now. Child's Play is an awesome charity, and I'm glad to see that Paizo is choosing to be a part of it.

Edit: Maybe you guys could get Tycho to try out Pathfinder and perhaps endorse it the way WotC did with 4.0? Maybe?

Wow! Great job everybody! There are some SUPER generous gamers out there and we all REALLY thank you. I have my fingers crossed that we can break into quadruple digits, but already the auction's way higher than I expected! Thanks a thousand times over to everyone and, if you can, keep it up! ^_^

~sighs~ Well, if I had that much money, then I would bid on it. Thanks to those that did bid on these wonderful items!

I'm with Sharoth... maybe you should put up some pathfinder volumes signed by the authors

Wow! That's already a lot of happy kids. Is it bad form to place bets on how high it'll go before it ends on Wednesday?

No worries! Folks who still want to make donations still have quite a few options:

  • First, you can find online auctions similar to ours at Child's Play's eBay charity auction page - which includes a host of Mythos flavored Cthulhupalooza Jones sodas from Darkest of the Hillside Thicket.

  • There's also this year's Child's Play Charity CD, featuring tracks by Jonathan Coulton (of Portal and "Still Alive" fame), MC Frontsalot, The Darkest of the Hillside Thicket, and (my fav) Freezepop.

  • And, of course, you can still make contributions via PayPal at the main Child's Play site.
So yeah, still plenty of time and ways to give. And come on, lets be honest, you were just going to squander that cash on moonpies and stickers, so why not give it to some kids who just want a chance to paly Mario III for the first time (tanooki suit FTW). Thanks to everyone who can help out!

I know, right!? I'm already super impressed. And if the bet's proceeds go to the charity or toward buying this year's (super-fantabuawesome) CD, I'd love to hear all about it! As soon as I read the track list on there I had to snatch mine up - but I'm a big nerd for nostalgic video game music. ^_^

As a just-graduated-studential type, I don't have a lot of cash. I am a huge fan of Child's Play, however! Good on Paizo for doing this; let's hope it can break $1000 in the final hour.

DAMN!!! If i had any money not pre-destined for rent and the cheapest food I can see I'd totally pop a four digit sum on that!

I hope someone with more means feels the same.

Pity theres no Irish hospital sponsored by the charity.

Vagrant, get a children's hospital hospital in your area to give Kristen at Child's Play a call. She is super enthusiastic about getting more hospitals involved from all over the world.

So, how about getting Gabe and Tycho over to play a game of the Pathfinder RPG when you've gotten it finalized? It'd be really cool to see Tycho chatting up the PRPG the way Gabe apparently has taken to 4.0 thanks to WotC...

Thank you, Paizo, for providing us such an awesome way to give to charity. Looking forward to the wonderful signed books. :)
