Give me whatever you have that kills all sensation below the waist. I got bit by some sort of rat-demon this morning and I'm pretty sure I picked up some sort of infernal ankle infection. Wouldn't be so bad, but yesterday I got mauled by a rampaging troll while I was out hunting in some forest and my shoulder's still sore. Don't ask me where I was -- I blink and suddenly I'm standing in a forest where trees weep blood. Must have been some GM's homebrew campaign. I ask you though, where is the logic in having me wandering around on my own just carrying a sling in a forest where the freaking trees are dripping blood! I know I've only got a 10 Intelligence, but give me a little bit of credit ...
Oh, and I just got word that they need me to go stand in some little no-horse town in Darkwood Vale so that I can provide a "valuable insight for the PCs into the motivations of an invading orcish horde." Sounds fancy, right? Know what that means? It means I'm going to take a falchion between the eyes.
How come I can't ever do a scene where I just contentedly tend a garden or fix a saddle while the PCs ride by? Of course we can't do that, because then the PCs wouldn't get to see the enormity of the threat that is always chewing on my arm by the time they show up. God forbid that they act proactively, but of course they never show up until I'm already being digested ...
