Is it something to do with the Pathfinder Society?

Right, the captain is 98% correct. You only see the sessions tab if you've joined the Pathfinder Society. It shows each session you've GM'd or played. (To see sessions for events you've organized, I'm pretty sure you need to go to your My Pathfinder Society page and click on the "sessions" link for each event.)
