Anybody ever hear of psionic reserve feats in anything that has been published, or maybe homebrew some? I really like the reserve feats in Complete Mage, and I'd like something like that for my psion.
I suppose I could just allow the psion access to the ones in the book, but I'd like to hear if you all have some information or ideas.

Aren't there feats that require you to be psionically focused to gain benefit X, but you can release your psionic focus to gain benefit Y? That sounds like the psionic version of reserve feats to me.
Because psionics is point-based (as opposed to Vancian), you already have the option to make a low-cost or high-cost effect. Technically it's not no-cost or high-cost, but it's pretty similar.

I see what you're saying, but in a combat-heavy party, the difference between LOW cost and NO cost becones apparent quite early on.
Plus many of a wizard's spells increase in damage as he levels with no additional cost. A psion has to burn additional power points to increase the damage of his powers. A wizard of over 5th level could fling Kelgore's Fire Bolt for 5d6 points of damage, but a psion over 5th level using say, Energy Ray would have to burn 5 power points to do comparable damage. I'm not complaining or saying that's not balanced, but I'd like to have a half-strength no cost thingy to toss around as well.

Honestly, the last time I really dealt with psionics was in 2nd edition, when you re-gained power points each round/minute/hour instead of 3.X, where I guess it's every day.
Too bad there isn't a necro-psionic power that gives you 1 pp for each HD of opponent you slay with your psionic powers. That would keep you up and running!!!
I guess there is a need for that. I think there are some psionic abilities that just require you have 1 power point in reserve, but doesn't use it up when you use it. I can see something like that scaling with how many power points you have in reserve.
For example:
Psionic Blast. If you have 1 power point in reserve, you can make a ranged touch attack with a range of 60 feet that causes 1d6 points of damage. For every 4 additional power points you have in reserve, the damage increases by 1d6, up to a maximum of 1d6 for every 2 manifester levels you have.
Kind of like the warlock's eldritch blast.

Psionic shot, fist and weapon all require you to expend your psionic focus, and require either a weapon to be in your possession or a melee attack as opposed to a ranged attack. Melee is not typically where a psion wants to be. Plus, if I'm not mistaken, the most extra damage you could hope to do with the Psionic feat chains is 4d6. Reserve feats can do up to 9d6. That's not quite similar enough for my tastes.
Dreamscarred Press? Never heard of it. I'll look into it.

It would be cool if there were one psionic reserve feat from each of the disciplines. Perhaps it requires you to be psionically focused (but not to EXPEND that focus) to use, as well as having a certain power point reserve, AND knowledge of a power from a certain discipline and of a certain level. Did that make sense?

The way Dreamscarred Press does their "sequestral feats" (psionic reserve feats) is that they require that the psionic character "sequesters" one of his powers for a day, and in exchange he gets to use an at-will ability.
There's a sample .pdf that might explain a bit better here:
