Liberty's Edge

I am going to be using the afflicted lycanthrope template. I was wondering if anyone could offer the location on feats that i could use for the development of this character.

It is going to be a chaotic Netrual Were-Tiger. I was looking mainly for any feats that will aid in my shape change, either making it quicker or such.

Thank You For All Your Assistance,

It's not a feat, but the 5th-level of the Warshaper PrC (Complete Warrior) improves shapechanging time.

Be Honest I absolutely love playing a Werewolve and have found some tricks for it. Lycanthropes of most kinds make immensely powerful Monks, which also leads to a suitable explanation to any wondering on the change from the build-in alignments given to the template(Monk training and all). I usually only play naturals anyway. Warshaper is also my perfered prestige class for this build as they can reach it earlier than normal. There are a suprising number of feats that work for lycanthropes, if non-specifically. The first feat that immediately comes to mind can be found in the Forgotten Realms campaign setting book and is made just for Lycanthropes as the setting has a whole new race of them in the Elven Lythari variant of the werewolf. I think there is also a reserve feat in Complete Mage that assist those who can use shapeshifting, but it may be for that kind of spell only, I could be wrong. WoTc give a suprising amount of love to Lycans, but understandably most PCs want to run a werecreature through with something pointy and silver well before they wish to make their own characters into them. Something to use as a plot twist for DMs so you won't find much that is racial dedicated to them the way that Shifters get so much focus.

One obvious source springs to mind (although you probably have looked at it already): the Monster Manual. Control Shape (for afflicted lycanthropes), Improved Natural Armour, Improved Natural Attack, and Multi-Attack are obvious choices.

If you're referring to the Minor Shapeshift reserve feat in C.Mg., you are indeed correct in that it is only for spellcasters (those capable of casting L 4 spells).

If you are open to using OGL content, I would advise looking into Slaves of the Moon: The Essential Guide to Lycanthropes by Paradigm Concepts. I got this book when I decided I wanted to add a bit of lycanthropy to a campaign, and it has many nice bits of info for both sides of the DM screen. ;)

There are chapters on each individual species of lycanthrope (from the MM anyway), feats, spells, prestige classes, as well as their equivalent of 'savage progressions' for becoming one.

I hope that helps!

It is shiny :) I got this one a while back, and I have to say that it is very cool. I definitely recommend it.

I could swear that I came across a prestige class called "Master of the Moon" or "Disciple of the Moon," or something like that, a few days ago, which allows a lycanthrope to exercise some measure of control over its alternate form, allowing it to resist alignment change. The lycanthrope had to study with a Secret Order to learn this PrC. But now I can't seem to find it, and I don't remember which book it was in, but I'm pretty sure it was one of the 3.5 editions. Does this PrC ring any bells with anyone?

I don't know if one of these is what you remember, but there are two different Pr.Cl. in the 3.0/3.5 versions of Ravenloft. Note that lycanthropes in Ravenloft suffer under more restrictions rules- and behaviour-wise than normally ascribed to them in mainstream D+D, and the class features of these prestige classes address some of those issues.

Champions of Darkness (3.0) has the Moon Bane prestige class. It is for someone who survived (and possibly even got cured of) lycanthropy, and who now seeks to prevent the same thing from happening to others by hunting evil lycanthropes.

Gazetteer IV (3.5) - which covers Borca, Invidia, Verbrek, Valachan, and Sithicus - has the Moonchild prestige class. It is for lycanthropes (both afflicted and natural) who seek more control over their own form and their bestial urges.

Hmm, I don't think it was either of those, because it wasn't out of a Ravenloft book. But I do have Champions of Darkness, so I'll look into that PrC. Thanks for the suggestions.
