Another "what's allowed" question: Pathfinder Campaign Setting?

The Guide to Organized Play clearly says that you can buy equipment listed in the Pathfinder Campaign Setting. What about the feats and class variations? I was really hoping to use the Taldan Dualist feat found in the description of Taldan, the section in the GOP only says we can use feats feats from the Player's Handbook. It doesn't say we can't use stuff from the Campaign Setting, but it doesn't say we can either. What's the official word?

And then, once the cat is out of the bag, what about other feat, etc. from other Paizo Pathfinder sources, like the various players books for each adventure path and the classes that occasionally appear in the Chronicles?

The reason that it says that you can use the equipment chapter is that its an exception to the basic rule that you are using the Player's Handbook for everything. Nothing outside of the equipment chapter is available, and nothing from any of the other Pathfinder products is available either.

Thanks. Any idea why? I get not being able to use other non-OGL WotC stuff, but why not other Paizo stuff? (BTW, this is my first Living Campaign, so maybe this is fairly standard for organized campaigns like this.)

If I was guessing to level the playing field and to make it so people running the thing would not have to own every book.

I can't speak for Josh or anyone at Paizo, but just offhand I'd have to say that, first, its a "Season Zero," so they really want to see how the rules work without adding too many variables, and second, even if it wasn't a "Season Zero," if you just leave the door open for any feat or class feature from a Pathfinder book, then that's a lot for Josh to stay on top of to make sure it doesn't cause problems in an organized play environment, which is a bit different than a home game.

But that's just my guess, and I'm nowhere near being anything official.

That.

Though we'll add stuff in by the end of season 0 once we've had time to review everything and get a sense of how the rules are playing out.

Sounds like a plan. Thanks for the response. And for the record, I've had a great time and really good experiences in all 3 "official" games I've played in so far.

To repeat myself (and others), firearms are not allowed in PFS, at least not yet. This is an exception to the equipment chapter, and possibly the only one.

Five games played so far, and finding PFS is very good, much less 'power-gaming' and much more roleplay than LG...

However, items available from the chronicles are very scarce (scrolls for the most part) and even items available at PA10 are still very limited.

I would suggest the following items made available in tier 4-5 chronicles:

Partially charged wands (10 charges: price cut by 5) of level 1 and 2 spells.
Pearl of power 1st (desperately needed!)
Cloak of resistance +1 (desperately needed!)
Useful level 2 spell scrolls for wizards ! (happy i'm not playing a wiz!)

I'll tell you what is desperately needed...

A HAPPY STICK! (A wand of Cure Light Wounds)

It was the most important item in Living Greyhawk (especially at low levels), and it's even more important in PFS due to the deadliness of the scenarios. Failure to understand this is just ignorance.

Patience. :-)

Is THAT what the kids are calling it these days...

I don't know if that has a place in PG games...

Course Nick Logue would love to include one of THOSE in an adventure somewhere. Maybe Mammy Graul has one...

Not that this applies to me now, but I'm considering for a later character concept of having a Halfling Paladin or Fighter. In the SRD it says for the Paladin that the standard option for small Paladins is Warpony, but that for Halflings a riding dog may also be allowed. Is it? I like the Paladin mount because it gains bonus HD and AC, though fighter will get to spirited charge much faster.

I would agree with you if these firearms were cursed (-1 to hit and unable to remove), and when you are out of ammo you must use them as a -1 club....eh...eh...

Please, no. I don't want firearms in my sword & sorcery fantasy setting. Unless its done by Moorcock.
