The book or her statblock don't really go over this much, but what happens if the PCs do assist her in taking down Bahor? It says she remains back in the fight initially, Bahor tries to get them to fight her, etc. then she joins in.
So:
1. What happens if the PCs beat Bahor with Vimanda? Does she then go after them while they're weak?
2. Would she agree to leaving them alone afterwards if they asked, and keep their word?
3. How far would she go? Protection while in the Fort Korvosa district?
4. What if they know she's a rakshasa?
5. If her attempt as posing as Vencarlo failed and they started a fight, would she attempt another try at convincing them to take out Bahor with her or just go for the kill?
6. When fighting, would she bother changing back to her actual form or just let them think it's Vencarlo?
As it happened, "Vencarlo" caught up to them after they had to retreat from the labyrinth and asked for protection. They were initially suspicious because Waydon (the druid) had done a scrying on Vencarlo the previous day and lost saw him in chains with no weapons. They were even more suspicious when Waydon asked Vencarlo "Who am I?" You see, Waydon had been reincarnated since Vencarlo had last seen him, as an elf. As Vimanda didn't know this and had limited information based on Detect Thoughts failures on some party members, I had her answer "Waydon". That was enough for them and they went after him/her.
We left off there. A few of them are now super paranoid and wondering if Vencarlo has been a rakshasa this whole time, or if it's a fake.
Personally, I'm wondering if Vimanda would try to reason with them if the battle wasn't going well for either side (IE: she was having a hard time taking them down as much as they were taking her down). It may be that one of the wizard's Dispels could take down her buffs fast and make her drop soon (they bought a lot of Bless oils in preparation for the devil they glimpsed in the scry), but if they don't, would she try to convince them again to help take down Bahor?
How much information would she give them? Reveal her true self? Leave up the Vencarlo guise? Explain where Vencarlo and Neolandus are, etc.?
Basically, how bad does she want to be in charge, and how much will she give to the PCs in order to help out?
