i know there is a feat that allows mediums creatures to use large weapons, but for the life of me i cant remember exactly what it is and where i can find it. can anyone help me out?

I think it's Monkey Grip, in the Complete Warrior or Complete Adventurer.

I always thought Monkey Grip could have been better. You still take a -2 penalty, which you always get when trying to wield a larger weapon, the only difference is how many hands it takes. But then again, the only larger weapon anyone has in mind with this feat is a Greatsword, so it could be useful.
I'd also suggest that you check out strongarm bracers form the Magic Item Compendium. IIRC, you get the same effect but without the -2 penalty, and I think they cost about 6,000gp.
