On page 16 of the Escape from Old Korvosa, the "Ad Hoc Experience Award" for 'escorting Amin to safety' is 8, a pretty big chunk of change. Especially considering all they really have to do is go to the wrecked building where he's been camping out to talk to him. Is the XP award for that simple encounter, or is it for getting him out of Old Korvosa entirely? It doesn't seem to specify, though I'm guessing the latter.

The XP award is for getting him completely to safety; if the PCs only show up and talk to him, they get nothing and he eventually dies. If they take the time to ensure he's back safely in Korvosa and out of Old Korvosa, THEN they get the XP award for going above and beyond and risking additional confrontations with the gray maidens. It's also one of several XP awards sprinkled through the campaign that rewards PCs for helping the downtrodden citizens of Korvosa out.
