When generating a character for Pathfinder Society play, is the Elven curved blade considered exotic for elves or do they automatically have proficiency with it?

automatically have proficiency with it ;) it has 'Elven' in the title :D sooo 'racial weapon'

That's not in the elven racial description of 3.5 though. Elves don't automatically have proficiency with "elven" weapons. Elves have weapon proficiency, but not Weapon Familiarity like gnomes and dwarves.

Correct. Elves recieve no additional weapon proficiencies in the Pathfinder Society. At least, they don't currently. This MAY change when we start Season 1 with the release of the PF RPG next August.

Darn. I hope it does get changed. In my mind I picture it like those Elven swords in the opening of Lord of the Rings, when the orcs are charging the Elf front lines.

With the Elf Blood racial trait do Half-Elves, like their Elven kin, have automatic 'proficiency' with the Elven Curve blade? Appreciate the clarification between the Elf vs. Half-Half.

Half elves get all the racial benefits listed in the half elf section, nothing more. They don't gain any elven weapon proficiencies or other racial traits.

Elf Blood means spells that have specific effects that target elves (or humans), or bane effects that target elves also work against half elves.

Edit: This is more of a Pathfinder RPG rules question and should be in the 'rules' forum above. Also, most everything above your post no longer applies since it refers to 3.5.

Also keep in mind that even elves don't automatically have proficiency with the Elven Curved Blade - they just treat it like a martial weapon.

Interesting catch. I never noticed that before, not that it effected anything in my home games.

Thanks for the clarification.

Where is the elven Curve blade in the books ? what release is it in ?

Core rules p. 143 (5th printing).

Under Curve blade, elven.

It's in the Pathfinder Core Rulebook. It's a d10 two handed weapon w/crit of 18-20 that can be used with Weapon Finesse.
