Blog Picture: Seoni versus Eddie (Caution 80's metal band content)

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

The mummies on the blog picture today make me think of Eddie from the Iron Maiden album covers... Another great piece of art from the great Paizo people.

Incidentally this might just be my new #1 favorite picture of everyone's favorite sorceress. No submissive Seoni pose here.

Grand Lodge

Agreed! Actually I would love a full size poster of this picture. Maybe autographed by the artist and Paizo staff as well!

And of course Seoni could autograph it too :) lol

Yes... full sized post print would be awesome... in fact I would buy quite a few of the various art pieces if they were available.

Edit: Gotta break out the Powerslave Albumn cover for comparison when I get home now.

I was thrilled to get up and see today's pic. I had (have?) a creeping fear that Paizo will stop giving us the big versions, excited by their throwing a smaller one up every once-in-a-while, and this not only calmed my fears but blew me a away; one of my all time faves. (Now, if they would only give a big one of WAR's cover for Gods and Magic...)

I think Paizo has some seriously dedicated diviners working for them to hear this request so far in advance

I said BIG! That one just hurt me by creating lusts it could not satisfy.

Heh... I think Paizo does a far far better job of providing us with high quality gaming pr0n than any other RPG shop. If they occasionally slip some smaller ones in there *shrug*. The linked image with the cleric is the coolest one by far I've seen of her.

Did you notice Sajax is splitting the one mummies head in half in the lower left?

Fine, Dennis, so you're not gonna let me be a baby. Maybe I would have whinned less if it had been an illustration I had cared less about. But hey, note that I did hold back the whinning until I had something postive to say first! The very reason I can complain is on the basis of how much Paizo has spoiled me/us.

I absolutely agree with you on Kyra v. Rogabug (Rovagug?). And the Sajan-cleave was a really nice detail.

Anybody figure up the challenge rating on that encounter? At least, what, 7 mummies and 1 mummy lord?

For comparison:

Not sure those links will work. I'm not sure what kind of Undead Eddie is. I'd guess Mummy Lord but he usually doesn't sport any wrappings.

Rovagug is correct. And it's not Kyra who's fighting him but Sarenrae. Kyra just dresses like the boss, basically.

As for posting the art for the covers... we're a bit hesitant on posting huge size/high resolution images because the art IS one of the biggest things that Paizo provides to set us apart, really. And giving away high resolution images of the covers isn't something we're really interested in doing too much. Now and then we'll post something like we did for the Osirion cover, but for now, they're exceptions to the rule.

Yeah, I'd go with Mummy Lord. I was never an Iron Maiden fan, but I always liked the illustrations...one of the members of my original AD&D group was a big fan.

We will happily lap up those exceptions. Sarenrae, right, the Goddess. Thanks James--please hear the thanks more than the whining!

You talking about the cover to War of the Burning Sky #1: The Scouring of Gate Pass (d20) PDF? Hellz yeah! thats's the headdress Bruce wore/wears when he belts out "Powerslave". Derek Riggs (the amazing Maiden ...and Gamma Ray... artist) is actually a prophet from that time...flung to the 1980's in a mystical spell gone terribly wrong.

Did you see Riggs' revisiting of that cover (mixing with Somewhere in Time)?

**EDIT** I see it now. here!

Thats pretty close to the No Prayer for the Dying/Bring yer Daughter era art. I love the falling sand details and the split skull! In the background between the two iconics...I think Larry Trainor/Negative Man from Doom Patrol is ready to mix it up!

water water everywhere and not a drop to drink

Silver Crusade

Awesome piece, and the last two Pact Stone Pyramid pics have been great too(particularly fond of the paladin headlock).

Nice to see the last batch of iconics starting to mingle with the first.

Unfortunately the link you sent me appears broken. I lover the Scouring the Gate Pass cover, wish the picture was bigger, looks cool.

I think I saw the Somewhere in Time/ Powerslave mix up image while poking around (giant Eddie coming out the top?)... it was very cool.

When my kids were quite young I was accused of being a bad parent because I had Iron Maiden posters in my daughter's bedroom. Maybe they were right, all of my daughters grew up to be Maiden fans though and know who Eddie is :)

Maybe one of these days you can put together a coffee table book or some posters with those high res images you have tucked away :)

Now posters would be great.

Yes, I would buy, frame, and stare slack-jawed at some Paizo posters.
