I'm curious, do the datasets implement traits? If so how are they selected?

Argh... gotta download it now.

When will PCGen support Pathfinder RPG, or will it wait for the final product?

Hi Krome!

PCGen's plan is support the Pathfinder RPG Beta with the next Stable Release. Unfortunately II am unable to give a date for when that might be out. We had hoped it would be sooner than later, but we are a little short on Code Monkeys right now.

Now, with that said, if there are any Java Monkeys out there who would be interested in helping to making a great Char Gen even better, come on over to PCGen@Yahoo! and join the team!

I want to give some appreciation to you, Maredudd, and your monkeys. PCGen is the best software out there for Char generation--in my experience the competitors don't compare. Been using it for years and I really look forward to the Pathfinder support. May your tribe increase.

Yes, traits have been implemmented, using PCGen's 'ability' object. I haven't used the sets yet myself but I'll bet you'll access them through the 'Feats and Abilities' tab.

And by all means! Go download them NOW! :-)

Very cool. I'll have to check them out. I'm probably going to roll my own dataset and poke at rolling my own PRPG classes. I know they need to do some Java programming but I think I can get something close enough.

All the PCGen people rock!

So is there any word on whether WotC might budge on making a more flexible fan license so PCGen could actually release 4e datasets?

We have had no word from WotC.

We are, and will remain, open to discussing it with them.

Well good luck. Their silly ideas with regards to IP and the GSL are one of the biggest reasons I'm here. Hopefully they will rethink a lot of those decisions.

The only way to make wotc change their minds is not to buy their stuff. I hope 4th edition, and all the big negative changes coming with it, will fail. Thats the only thing someone who is only thinking about profit will notice.

Btw: Full pathfinder support for pcgen would be great. Since I use pcgen Iam not fond of creating characters on my own again...
