I've never played any of the C&C games. I've never been interested.
However, I intend to get this game as soon as it comes out whether my computer can run it or not.
Thanks to this little bit of inspired marketing, I must have this game. I've watched this trailer easily 10-12 times.
I'm mostly just making this thread to 1)indoctrinate others in a Ring-inspired hope that getting others to watch will free my mind from the need to watch again, and 2)to put the link somewhere easy to find for later.
Please feel free to watch the video, and just come back here and name something awesome about it.

Absolutely thrilled to hear you're excited. I'm one of the developers on that game (I do the AI), and we're pretty excited about it too.
I got to be on the set the day we were filming George Takei, which was really cool. They did the promo's on another set though, so I didn't get to see his "all your base" clip until Silverman made that dance mix ;-)

I've been on the Beta for this game and I must say, compared to C&C3, it falls pretty far short of my expectations.
Now, granted, I've been playing the BETA, but C&C3 set the bar for my expectations of games in this genre. I find the graphics in RA3 to be slightly subpar (though I must admit the water effects are wonderful) and the interface is an absolute nightmare. The balance of power between units and even factions is way out of whack and it's difficult to tell what a unit even DOES due to the lack of tooltips on the interface.
Also, the gameplay is a bit sluggish and the method for acquiring resources is completely different from previous games in the series. I was thoroughly unimpressed by the Beta and only hope that the final revision makes some serious changes (especially to the graphics and interface). Also, I really hope they beef up their 64-bit OS support because C&C3 took several patches to run on 64-bit smoothly. I love the previous RA titles and I really want to like this one, but I'm likely going to wait several months for the prices to drop before I even consider it, hoping that they've fixed the bulk of their issues by then.

Sorry you haven't enjoyed the beta as much as C&C3, but keep in mind it is a beta. I hope you'll pick up the game when it's out.
I don't keep up to date on what marketing has and hasn't said, so I'm afraid I'll have to refrain from commenting until after we ship. But I'd be happy to discuss the game further at that point.
