So far we only have a few tidbits about AP5. We know it's not going to be too 'off-the-wall' as it's supposed to showcase the new 'core' of 3.5 with the PRPG ruleset.
As this AP will be rotating me back behind the screen (I ran RotRL, and three of my players have been doing APs 2,3, and 4) I'm very curious about this one.

There isn't really any official information yet, although I've heard a few (non-Paizo) posters discuss it being placed in Cheliax. Personally, I'm hoping for it to be somewhere in Garund, probably in or near the Mwangi Expanse or some other large forest (they need to have green covers at some point!)
Alternatively, placing it in Avistan's far north could be interesting. The Realm of the Mammoth Lords or the Land of the Linnorm Kings, for example.

If I recall their typical lead time, we probably won't hear anything until about chapter 5 or 6 of Second Darkness. Then we'll get the AP title, each chapter will be added to the store, and some general info. Full previews and general info dumps won't be until halfway through Legacy of Fire.
Until then, I'm sure the Paizo staff will be as tight-lipped as they usually are. After all, they want to focus everyone on the current AP. :)
(That being said, if you hear anything, let us know. Sometimes info slips in the chats.)

What we know is that its going to me a little more 'classic', as it will come out together with PRPG. In the same way that RotRL was a more classic-style AP, AP5 should be 'back to the classics'
There were some references on chat and on the board that leads to something around Cheliax. I caught a few references to 'shadows' that pointed me a bit more to the north, at Nidal
And thats about all we know. From that on, its all about speculations (and bugging James until he screams and collapses)

I heard it was going to be a post-modern AP set in an advanced version of Varisia where the realm has been overrun with the fruit of awakened Runelords. There will be whole encounters in malls and fast food shops where the PCs must navigate the mindless hordes of consumers to get to the final goal. I also heard that there will be a red sports car that the PCs can gain, thus helping them achieve their goals in a more rapid manner.

You need that not only to power the vehicle to its maximum potential, but later it will be useful to avoid/fight the trannibals in the fourth book.

I heard the fourth book, titled The Trouble with Trannibals, is going to be pretty gruesome.

Word on the street is Nick Logue is writing that one, and he's trying to use the material that got cut from HMM and a Broadway rework script of To Wong Foo he's never finished.
I'm hoping it's gonna be like Priscilla Queen of the Desert meets Road Warrior.
Actually, that volume was too f%%!ed up for even Nick Logue to tackle and he passed it off to two individuals so that the mindscrew was possibly distributed enough to save a couple of souls.

They have to release a 6 month window of products to all the distributors or something...so we'll see the last couple AP#4 and the first few AP#5 just because of when everything falls in the grand scheme of things.
