Ok so here's the situation. I was was getting ready to run RotRL for my new gaming group tonight. Well one of the players dropped out, bringing the number of players to ONE(this is clovis, nm. You're lucky if one 1 show up).
Well the other player still wants to go at it solo. So my question(s) is out of the two which AP would fit a single player more; RotRL or CotCT? Also what can I do, I already know either way I'll have to tone done all the encounters, to make it easier on him? If it helps we will be using Beta Rules.
As for just making/running an homebrew, not enough time. I'm bad at coming up with material on short notice. Plus he really wants to run it.
Anyway I have less than 8 hours to think of something, and any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I haven't finished reading CotCT yet, so no comment there. But RotRL does have a lot of story elements, and combat can often be resolved with interesting tactics (and you can justify going easy on the player because of the goblins...umm...instability).
Would the player be interested in running two PCs?
Would you be willing to run a DMPC?
If you can do both, that gives you a 3 PC party and you can make everyone level 2 and not worry. I've done the same thing several times, and it has resulted in some of the most interesting adventures I have run as a DM. It's very personal, no one feels guilty of stealing "face time" at the table.
