Treasure questions (minor Silent Tide spoilers)

Good morning,

I'm looking over the Pathfinder Scenarios and am a bit confused on treasure distribution. There are some goodies that aren't included on the sheet in the back.

For example:

Nessian has a masterwork flail. Now he's a tough fight, but a well placed sleep spell, or a good shot with a bow can/will drop him in one round. If this happens, and a party member picks up the flail, do I note this on the sheet or what? I'm still new at this Organized play thing.

It isn't mentioned because a player can buy it from the PHB. Also the item is converted into cash as a reward. If the encounter happened in the beginning or middle of the adventure then the players could use it, but at the end it would revert to cash.

That still does not explain why

+1 half plate appears on the Tier 4-5 loot list for Silken Caravan.

because players can buy that item as well, but it is still listed.

Ah, so the 'at the end of the encounter the party gets X' represents 'the party took all the stuff and sold it at Odd lots'. Got it.

Gaspar on Tier 1-2 had master work armor, while the tier 4-5 he had the magical variety... thus the difference.

This is why the level 3 tier gets to choose, up or down on the Tier chart... Risk vs. Reward.

This is why the level 3 tier gets to choose, up or down on the Tier chart... Risk vs. Reward.

Characters can already buy both of those, and the Masterwork armor isn't listed for Tier 1&2. Access to Masterwork or +1 armor is not restricted except by whether or not you can afford it.

I do not understand why +1 half-plate was listed in the "treasure" section for Tier 4 and 5 on that adventure when similar treasures are not listed elsewhere.

I'm pretty confident it was just an error, but I would like to be sure.

I'm pretty sure it was just a mistake but I am surprised that Josh hasn't said anything about it to clear it up unless he did somewhere else. I think this particular instance has been brought up in other threads.
