Ok, so I finally get CotCT #12 and SD read through them once already and going through a second time right now.

So, as I am reading I see that Earthfall was caused by an Aboleth weapon that pulled a star down and basically nuked the Azlanti.

Then I remember that Zon-Kuthon agree to be bound into the Plane of Shadow for as long as the sun hung in the sky.

So the Aboleth apocolypse freed Zon-Kuthon. Could it be that the entity that possessed Dou-Bral and became Zon-Kuthon could be an immense aboleth or something.

It's the little details like this that make my brain kick into overdrive. I may never know if I am even close on this but it feels right and I believe it will be how my Golarian is ran.

Does anyone else see this like I do?

(Looks around nervously)

So umm no answers?

Maybe the Aboleth already got them all? Maybe the Elder Evils?

(Runs screaming and babbling through the streets)

People don't discuss these things around here, citizen. Move along. There's nothing to see here.

*pant pant* Ok I think I finally got away from that freaky looking cop.

Hmm. Still no one around. Well I suppose it's time to head to the desert.

No abolith would ever demean itself by taking such a crude and useless form. Your "god" sold himself to the abolith in exchange for his freedom and now does our bidding to further our goals on Golarin, goals your feeble minds could never comprehend.

Possibly I just thought it was a decent idea. That or maybe the Elder Evils Twisted Dou-Bral's mind so much he snapped!

Nay, it was lust for his sister that drove him to darkness, the elder ones simply facilitated his fall once he made the choice.

Feel free to speculate away on this. We're not going near it for a very long time, if ever.

Some things should remain mysterious.

You should tell us good sire, the truth will make you free.

Just my opinion here, but I don't think the aboleths are that big a deal to send Zon-Kuthon down the path he went.

Personally I kind of like the idea of him running into something like an evil version of the Lady of Pain outside Golarion's reality. More conventional cosmic horror is probably a more popular choice though.

What does strike me as odd about the aboleths is that the stone they called down has led to four new gods coming into the world. Did the aboleths just get hit with a sack full of irony or could they have some long-running plot at work?

Sometimes wild mass guessing beats having one solid answer to work with. ;)

Well I didn't really mean that they are directly responsible for his corruption. Moreso that they had a connection to him and so he had a clue about the use of the weapon. Guess I am curious because I see trying to redeem him as being one hell of a epic campaign.
