what caused the thunder?
A dull bout of thunder shakes the ground before you, the operatives barely keep their balance as a second rumble sets off their vehicle alarms.
A third but this time the ground erupts as a figure goes sailing past landing a dozen feet beyond the last of the convoy of vehicles the operatives turned up in, the figure is nightmarishly large dressed in the garb of a wrestler with what looks like some kind of drug supply set up that feeds something directly into him.
He appears unconscious but there's now a gaping hole leading deep underground.

Now that there's a hole you can feel the air literally burn with magical energy, somewhere below the building several someone's are casting magic some of which reminds you of Baron Mordo but you can't tell if its him or just a number of magicians.
Supergirl quickly disables the operatives melting their weapons before they can open fire.
Pong however now approaches even as a strange silver disc flies after him towards all of you.
You can't help wondering... where is Batman?

The air is chilled that every breath comes forth like a fine mist, the hole behind you looks suspiciously like the result of multiple blows or blasts but you're not sure which.
Before you the area is very large and seems to have been used as a storage area but whatever has happened down here has spread debris all over this chamber enough so that a fair distance ahead of you is a large archway leading into a central point that has a crane suspended above what could be a large pit in the centre of the basement area.
It is otherwise quiet far too quiet...
I shall fly in low to the ground and hide behind the first obstacle sorta in front of the tunnel. Unless detected immediently, I will then use my x-ray vision and scan the room, quickly examing the contents of the room and looking for any individuals.
Its freezing cold and otherwise the basement area appears clear there looks like a number of stairs leading upstairs in the far corners of the basement and an odd open area that upon looking down opens into an underground railway something you don't recall from the buildings floorplans.

If the response is no and my super hearing doesn't detect anything of significance, then I'll start moving forward, to take a quick look down this tunnel before turning my attention to the stairs.

Hmm, if we had some tracking device; like a hound; we could check for scent or tracks; I have read that footprints can show up as heat spots; see you anything?; perhaps in this cool mist something might be learned.

Wince at the blow striking my body shield and sending me spralling; seeking not to brawl; cast a mezzmerisim of a hypnotic pulsing light pattern between they and I in the hopes I can catch them with it; they should stand staring at it; if i am lucky enought to catch all of them with it; will then again use my dark faerie magic to give a gentle push of compulsion to answer my question and ask them to identify themselves and their task here.

my dark faerie magic is monstrous; but a not effective against iron; so if they have a significant source of iron on them they are warded againt it and it will fail. They didnt appear to be knights incased in steel so I thought it prudent to attempt this rather than an eldrich blast as I would rather not attack someone without knowing why.

I received a green result on the intuition check. Do I hear Maelidek speak out or is this all through his magic? Wow, you guys were busy posting yesterday.You feel a very slight vibration focusing in you overhear Maelidek challenging someone and then swearing .
Following it you return to the opening you originally flew down and after a moment Maelidek reappears out of nowhere!

After a couple of minutes the mist disperses and you can see Supergirl looking back up the opening you travelled down from the surface.
She turns and sees you almost as soon as you do.
Dissappeared; not that I know of; hmm; I saw four people surrounding a fifth and somebody hit me; they didnt answer any of my questions and were rude and evasive. I am beginning to believe your mind was clouded or perhaps one or both of us were subject to mental illusions. I did not leave or move other than to fall when I was hit. I dont think that these figures were the same as the one I spoke to outside; I think they are competition to get some artifacts as they did not have them yet and by their comments they are seeking them. Next we meet, things will be different; beware of a slender, dark cloaked person in black with a cowl over her face and pale skin; and four guardian figures similiarly dressed.
I didnt realize you were excluded; thought perhaps you went with your speed to see if Pong had arrived or had moved ahead quicker than I could see.

Then something steps into view obscured by the mist you can't make out who it is.
"Welcome, may I ask your reasons for coming here?" she asks as a woman dressed in a white bodysuit with red maple leaf motif across it stares back at you as the mist clears around her.
"Well I sure ain't Wonder Woman. You've heard of Superman right? Well I'm his cousin, I would have taken the name Wonder Woman but it was already taken, so I settled for Supergirl! And you are?"
She smiles back.
"Another solar kinetic?" she mutters almost absentmindedly."Try and not use your abilities on me please, I almost drained your "cousin" dry the last time and I really don't need the power boost," the Ice Witch explains.
Turning to Maelidek she almost curtsies.
"I still have no interest in picking sides especially with the faeries," she tells him politely.
"Mind the mist its a side effect of trying to keep my abilities under control, I assume the others took refuge downstairs?" she asks.

"I spent many years up north and inherited this from a friend with Alpha Flight admittedly it was supposed to help me control my powers," she replies.

The Batman is very busy; he has determined through the connections of many clues that this is a place of interest to the powers of villiany; I am trying to determine if it is the place or one or more artifacts contained therein; I will brook no interferance from thugs and villains; the construction of this place is at least odd as compared to the structure of other buildings. It is as if we are facing the tactics of a great mastermind who plans dilegently and we are but pieces on a gameboard; why is this building thus shielded if it were not a trap; one layed out since its very construction. This building itself is evidence of a well ordered mind capable of long range complex planning and discipline. Also; there was a team I met just previously to our meeting just now; a Dark clad woman with several minions; they struck me and asked questions; lurkers they are seeking to grab a prize; it seems many are here for this prize; they were very resistant to a subtle yet very strong mental magical push to reveal their purpose in more detail.
I know of this Alpha Flight though my fleeting aquaintance with the Mystic called Shaman who is aware of nature and fae activity.
I, for myself, am not tied to the Fae, though I was schooled in the magic of the Dark Elves as well as other forces.
When I spoke to Batman; he did not mention that you and he were aquainted. I do not know this Nightwing; and in truth; no very little of Batman other than the people of this city hold him in reverance as a hero.

Do you see that our goals may be in line at this point; I would not see the goal of these vile groups fall into the hands of villany at any cost. I do not see you as a villian, though i am not sure why; as if I have some affinity toward you. I sense no overt push for me to desire your cooperation; hmm; perhaps it is something else..curious, I have not been on this mortal earth long enough to determine its affects and cannot manifest my powers in full. <meaning in game terms that I shifted down much of my attributes and powers a few class shifts from the model characters I used as a templete due to mach the lower power of the previous group>
