So I've been looking for a good con around my parts (New England) and the closest I've seen is a con run once a year in February. It's not bad, but still feels a little... small.
So I looked around some more and there's a convention called "ConnectiCon" in Hartford, CT which supposedly attracts upwards of 5000 attendees. However, this is labeled as a "pop culture convention" and the main attraction seems to be comics, video-games, card games, and dressing up as your favorite character from the former. Oh, and they also have some roleplaying games and board games.
So... is this a "gamer" convention or something else? It seems to emphasize gaming in a different way than I'm used to.

Sorry to be so far behind, from what I've heard Connecticon is a little bit of everything. Its a bit more like DragonCon than GenCon (lots of Anime/nintendo influence in the costumes) but I know people that have had a great time going just for the RPGs before.. just be prepared for lots of space for video games and anime screenings. (never been there myself, this is just what i heard from friends)
