Sandros Highmount
Again, Sandros shouts, "Aika tildemakil," though this time the rapier in his hand seems to pulse with energy as he does so. He steps forward and lunges at the dragon.
Using arcane bond to cast critical strike again. Since I'm assuming the dragon took a 5 ft step to attack Ka'kara, Sandros follows as well.
Blessed rapier attack with flank, Power Attack, and critical strike (1d20+9=27, damage 1d6+4=10, critical strike damage 1d6=6)
Crit confirm, with +4 bonus from critical strike (1d20+13=25, damage 1d6+4=6)
WOO HOO! FIRST CRIT THAT MEANS SOMETHING!!!!
Enhanced with arcane power, the blow strikes deep, and Sandros lets out a shout of triumph.
Jiro
WOO HOO! FIRST CRIT THAT MEANS SOMETHING!!!!
Way to go Sandros! It's about time something went your way :)
Jiro moving quickly ducks out of the way of the stream of acid but is still splashed by the beasts attack. He watches in horror as his clothes and skin start melting away. A moment later positive energy flows through him and the burns start healing. Not feeling safe even in the back of the cavern Jiro rushes forward.
Double move to 120058. Acrobatics 1d20+6=20 to clear the stream.
Moving forward quickly and flipping past Hella, Royl and Proteus Jiro jumps the stream and kicks the dragon in the side without slowing.
To hit 1d20+2=4+charge and flanking=8. I'm not going to worry about the damage.
Ka'kara Furyheart
Wow! Other than Sandros' last strike we are rolling s#!**y!
The intense pain from the ripping claws fuels Ka'kara's fury and she brings her blade back around smashing it into the reptile, "Now you die rodent!" She takes a 5' step toward Proteus so he can reach her more easily.
To hit: 1d20+12=22, 2d8+18=23 Please tell me that hits....
BTW, OUCH!!! She can't handle another round like that. Healing Proteus? Please.
Proteus
Ok, had to do some housekeeping on the map. I am going to assume that the dragon made a 5' adjustment in order to hit Ka'kara. Which means that Hella would have had to move 120058 in order to attack the dragon and it doesn't appear she gets flanking, if she hit. This also means that Sandros would have had to make a 5' adjustment to 121058 in order to get off his attack and Jiro would have had to close to 120059 in order to get his attack off since that would have been the only opening. These adjustments have all been reflected on the new map.
Seeing Ka'kara take the brunt of the dragon's fury, Proteus moves forward to 118061 and chants the word "Vitae" once again.
Channel positive energy (2d6=5), excluding the dragon from the burst. 5 hp back for everyone. Sorry, not much help there, Ka'kara.
Proteus
If Ka'kara also does a 5 ft step east, she should be able to offer all three of us flanking, shouldn't she?
If my understanding of flanking is correct, then that would give you and Hella flanking. It wouldn't help Jiro because she wouldn't be occupying the square directly across from him (which is 122059)

Doesn't matter too much with the crummy rolls I've been getting anyways :(
Roylenna Brenoien
It's a line, so it did miss Roylenna (unless I drew it crooked).
Oh, yeah. I knew that. *sheepish grin* I'll fix my hit points.
Proteus:
For Roylenna's third round action:
"Proteus, I think I must stay on the offensive if his hide is so resistance to their blades!"
And then she rolls this...
At least I didn't roll good damage on that...
Black Tom
Thanks for the new map, and Proteus is right about the flanking.
This time both Sandros and Ka'kara strike true, the former burying her blade deep in the dragon's flank and the latter piercing its throat. The dragon howls in pain and humiliation and probably for the first time in its life it actually feels fear. It is not a pleasant sensation.
Ka'kara is still the biggest threat, so the dragon thrashes her soundly, tearing at her with all it's got. Snapping jaws, rending claws and buffeting wings together inflict another 18 points of damage.
You're up.
Proteus
Proteus channels positive energy again with the word "Vitae."
Channel positive energy (2d6=10). Proteus excludes the dragon from the burst.
Then, with his move action Proteus pulls out a cure light wounds potion and holds it out as far as he can across the stream. "Kakara, can you grab this?!" he shouts.
Ka'kara Furyheart
Ok, as it stands now this is Ka'kara's plan: She will delay until everyone else has gone then attack and move 10' feet directly South (provoking an AOO). This way she doesn't endure a full attack from it (which at this point will kill her) and she gets an AOO of her own if it advances to engage her again. She is currently at 2 of 36 hitpoints though because she is raging she can take another 8 points before dropping. Let me know if that works with what you are thinking Proteus.
EDIT: She is now at 12 of 36 hitpoints. Nice heal Proteus! :)

Works for me, just don't forget the 10 hp of healing Proteus just did. I was thinking you could take a 5 foot adjustment, grab the healing potion and use your standard action to drink the potion. I was hoping that with your enlarged status you would have the reach to grab the potion from across the stream. This provokes no attacks of opportunity and might give you another round. But, either way, it works.

However, if she did that. She wouldn't get her attack on it and it would get another full attack on her making all the healing moot by the very next round. I think that would be a losing battle, this way she gets 2 attacks on the thing and is still likely standing. Hold on to that potion though she may come get it yet ;)
Sandros Highmount
Hella needs the flanking more than I do, so I suggest we do a 5 ft shuffle to swap places.
Sandros, clearly worried about the beating the barbarian is taking, shifts his ground to open up another opportunity for Hella, while taking another stab himself.
Blessed rapier attack with Power Attack (1d20+7=16, damage 1d6+4=5)
Swift action to Dodge as well. Looks like I've picked up on the general dice malaise...
Hella
Hella relaxes her shoulders as the positive energy soothes the last of any acidic burning. She spins fast and slices at the back of the dragon's thigh:
Blessed MW Dagger w/ Flank: 1d20+10=22
Damage w/ SA: 1d3+1d6=5
At least she hit and did average damage. Better than her last 5 or 6 attempts.
Roylenna Brenoien
Aye, and better than I'm doing. Keep it going for halfling pride, girl!
Roylenna, flustered by her last miss and angered by the beating her friend is taking, tries to force her shot, sending a stream of golden fire into the wall above the dragon.
Heavenly fire attack 1d20+6=8, damage 1d6+2=3
Oops - this is my round four, in case I'm getting ahead of everyone.
Jiro
Looking the creature over Jiro strikes at it's flank.
Stunning fist 1d20+2=11; 1d6-1=2
Unused to the dragons strange physiology Jiro's blow just glances off it's hide.
Ka'kara Furyheart
Bleeding from multiple wounds herself Ka'kara takes a swing and staggers back from the feral lizard dragon thing. The swing is poorly placed and again bounces off the scaley hide. Why won't this thing DIE?!
To hit: 1d20+9=15, 2d8+18=25
Ka'kara steps back 10' feet directly South from the dragon so it gets a AOO on her
Whooohooo! Go us! :(
Black Tom
As Ka'kara retreats the dragon takes a bite out of her for 5 points of damage. Then it turns its attention to the rest of you and spews another streak of caustic spittle at Sandros, Hella and Roylenna for 10 ´points of acid damage (Reflex 17 for half). Then it takes to the air and flies away, going over Hella's head and granting an AoO to Sandros, Hella and Jiro.

Ooh, it burns, it burns!
Whew! It would have been wrong to handily make the save I didn't need and fail this one...
How far does the dragon fly? If he's still in range, Roylenna will fire at him again.
Failing that, she will target Ka'kara to heal her, instead.
Ka'kara Furyheart
Seeing that the rest of the group is fairly untouched at this point Ka'kara yells, "Quick! Follow it too it's den! It's badly wounded." Sagging a bit as her rage leaves her she begins to move after the flying lizard.
I'm assuming that there is no indication that this is its lair, is there? Though we did encounter it twice here.
Proteus
Jiro
Sandros Highmount
Ref save (1d20+4=15)
Not that it matters, since the resistance absorbs it all anyway...
Sandros takes another stab at the dragon with his rapier as it flies into the air.
Blessed rapier, still Power Attacking (1d20+7=25, damage 1d6+4=5)
Crit confirm (1d20+7=14, damage 1d6+4=9)
...sigh.
The blade catches some of the dragon's flesh as it goes, but it's a weak blow at best.
Ka'kara Furyheart
The dragon flies at an amazing speed and rapidly disappears around the bend, dripping blood as it goes.
You all get 265 xp for the battle.
Do you want to explore further, and if so, in what direction?
So no idication that this place served as it's lair then? Ok, then...
She lifts both Proteus and Roylenna across the stream. Ka'kara feeling rejuvenated by both Proteus and Roylenna starts moving quickly to follow the dragon and it's trail of blood, "It's bleeding badly. We should be able to follow it."
Ka'kara is 20 out of 36 hitpoints after those last heals (thanks Roylenna and Proteus :)

Jiro
Looking over the ruins of his robes Jiro says,"Is it wise to run after the beast? It was almost mortally wounded and will being going to where it feels safest. What if it has siblings or worse?" After tying off the remains of his clothing around his waist he looks up at Ka'kara, one eyebrow arched, "Are you just going to run in there with that huge sword waving over your head screaming Ya!Ya!Ya!Ya!Ya?" He waves his arms over his head mimicking the large barbarian woman.
Sorry I just have this funny image in my head about Ka'kara, a tall menacing barabrian woman, towering over Jiro, this short, old, bald man, while he reprimands her. :)

Ka'kara pauses and looks thoughtful for a moment, "No, it would be more of a ai!Ai!AI!AI!!AI!!!" She then turns and looks at Sandros with a smile, "You ready?" and continues down the passage.
Got the healing Proteus. 30/36 now. Ready to roll!
Ka'kara Furyheart
Since it has been a while, here is the overall cavern map. I vote we go after the dragon and explore the cave later.
Yep, let's go after the dragon. There's a cave marked dragon? Where?

Proteus wrote:Since it has been a while, here is the overall cavern map. I vote we go after the dragon and explore the cave later.Yep, let's go after the dragon. There's a cave marked dragon? Where?
It's the one we're in now.
Sandros glances quickly around while Proteus attends to Ka'kara, but it;s clear from his attitude that he's just waiting until she's ready to continue the pursuit of the dragon.
Perception (vision-based) (1d20+3=6)
Once Ka'kara is stitched back together, Sandros whips his blade back and forth and nods. "Time to finish this," he says.
Ka'kara Furyheart
Ah, looked at the map. Got it.
Looking down the tunnel and realizing it splits and goes back to the "big water devil cave" Ka'kara says, "It's run off and didn't go back to it's den. We'll never catch it. I think that cave back there is it's den."
I think she could figure out that much with her survival skill. If we catch a glimpse of the dragon than I guess we can follow it otherwise.....let's explore the dragon cave. It can just fly around that big cave over the water and snipe at us with it's breath, not fun. We'll see what BT says.

Ah, I had forgotten. Thanks, for the reminder (not fully awake yet). Well, let's definitely see where that goes. If it goes too the lake though.....
Black Tom
Sorry, have been out of town (and far away from my books for a few days.
Around a corner you find the dragon's stash of tidily stacked coins and other loot. There is a pile of 895 cp, 425 sp, 3 small garnets (25 gp each says Hella), the dried head of a goblin with a diamond stud in his nose, a greatsword (ordinary) a suit of banded armor (somewhat acid scarred), a dented great helm with an eagle crest, a sack containing 3 vials of alchemist's fire and a large metal shield (also ordinary).
In a small secret compartment in the wall (easily found while giving the cavern the full treatment, there is a small silver coffer. There are basically three exits not leading out of the dungeon or back to the lake: southwest, southeast and north.
Map sent to WorsT.

Roylenna will cast Detect Magic on the room at large and concentrate on individual items/areas as they register as enchanted.
"Wow, that's a lot of ... Gross! I guess you don't lose the diamond while it stuck in that thing, but... Gross!"
Sandros Highmount
"I am out of spells, however, I don't think we should leave the goblin king's lair alone for another day. I suggest we go down and see if we can move to the south and see if his chambers are beyond the southern door. I'd highly suggest we rest after that."
"Words of wisdom as always, my friend," Sandros nods. He hefts the silver coffer experimentally. "Perhaps we can take a moment to figure out what secrets this might be hiding while we do so." He glances at Jiro. "You still sure you want to come with us for this? You've seen what we're doing down here now..."
