Sandros and Ka'kara manage to flank the mephit. Sandros manages to find a foothold on the bottom, but he's underwater at the moment, while Ka'kara is treading water. The water is about 7 feet deep at this point.
The mephit tries to work his magic, but the raging barbarian is too much of a distraction for him, so he simply ducks under the water and disappears (moving 5 feet straight down).
Proteus, Hella, Jiro and Roylenna, then Sandros and Ka'kara again.
Sandros Highmount
The mephit has basically sunk down right in front of me, yes? So, assuming that Ka'kara drops under the water as well...
Magic rapier attack, with flank and Power Attack (1d20+9=25, damage 1d6+5=8)
With another swift action Dodge, since I can't spellcast effectively under water. 8 rounds of breath-holding left.
Sandros stabs out at the mephit, the thin blade of his rapier piercing the water and the mephit alike. Bubbles escape from his mouth as he stands on the lake floor.
Edit: the attack bonus with the rapier is slightly high - it should be a +8, but I still hit an AC 24.
Ka'kara Furyheart
I'm kind of assuming that Roylenna is about to Enlarge Ka'kara because she cannot target the mephit anymore. If enlarged Ka'kara doesn't need to move at all and will be standing directly on the bottom and giving you flank, Sandros.
To hit (BAB +3, surprise accuracy +3, raging +2, flank +2, str +4): 1d20+14=27, 2d8+14=25
Ka'kara raises her now spear length javelin over her head and drives it through the water pinning the devil's body to the floor despite it's tough hide..........
If Roylenna doesn't enlarge her than she just allows herself to sink doing the same exact thing but the damage would be 1d6+12. Either way I think the lil devil is hurting real bad. I know...I know....I should be patient but....Sandros went so I have too....blame him! ;)
EDIT: Whoops! I'm being dumb. Tried to do greatsword damage. Ok, the damage should only be 19 points (1d8+14 - took the lower of the 2 d8's I rolled).
Roylenna Brenoien
Well, we'll have to see what Roylenna does but I suspect that we're looking at one dead mephit. Let's see if you want to tackle the dragon while you're on a roll. ;o)
Enlarge Person was indeed next on the menu - and I'd hate to ruin such a great post by going against the plan now...
My during-the-day posting is going to be rare, so feel free to "push" Roylenna in the direction you think she'd go - like this - if I'm absent. Don't let the game drag 'cause of me.
Roylenna is intent on her task, not taking her eyes off the water, not saying a word.

Proteus is game to go after the dragon now. "Well, if we move quickly, we should be able to enter the dragon's lair with the continued benefit of the acid resistance spell." It lasts 30 minutes
Man, you're good. I had to go back to see what kind of dragon it was. (Page 26, if you want to review.)
"The "bigger" spell is only good for a short time, but I can renew it, if need be. Let's go!"
Proteus
Man, you're good. I had to go back to see what kind of dragon it was. (Page 26, if you want to review.)
Thanks, but I only remember because it seemed to me at the time that having resist energy (acid) was going to come in doubly handy after we had just taken on the mephit.

Ka'kara gives a look of surprise toward Proteus, "The dragon?! Now? Best idea yet! Let get it! That magic worked great Proteus', I felt barely the sting of the acid this time." She picks up Sandros' floundering form and deposits him back on the shore with just one hand before removing the water devil's body from her javelin and also tossing it onto the shore. "Just remember this little guy had that glowing dagger. Probably has it hidden in the lake. So after we crush the dragon we should come back and look for it."
She is at 34 of 36 hitpoints. To my fellow players: Be wary of evil DM's suggestions....remember what happened the last time he said this.... :)

"Of course I remember! I got to talk to a dragon!"
Sandros Highmount
Sandros' dignity seems somewhat battered by having Ka'kara move him around like a child, but he rallies gamely, bowing to her (still dripping) and saying with a wink, "You might have at least bought me a meal, my lady."
When the conversation turns to the dragon, Sandros nods. "If we can find it while your protections last... How much more time will the enchantment on my rapier remain?"
Ka'kara Furyheart
Looks like we are in agreement about facing the dragon.
Ka'kara looks down at all the miniature people before her (some more than others), "Sandros and I should charge in first to get it to focus on us since it spits acid and we are protected. With our shaman healing us....Hey! Proteus! Are you able to harm the restless spirit because it inhabits a skeleton? Or can you calm it's anger and convince it to leave for the underworld? Anyway, with Proteus healing us we should be able to bring it down quickly and I am sure your fire will hurt is Lenna. Jiro...Hella...I think it best if you two hang back. Ok, let's go as we have not much time before our protections fade." She begins to depart and says over her shoulder, "No to worry Hella, we shall avenge your friends deaths and give them proper burials." Hella's earlier lack of concern for the fate of her companions seems to have fallen on deaf ears.
Has she shrunk yet Roylenna?
and just to expedite things since I know there is a battle about to be joined. Initiative: 1d20=6
Ka'kara Furyheart
In case you decide to follow the crazy woman again, I just need to know your route and marching order.
Hey! It wasn't my idea! They suggested it first and she is actually being quite calm and waiting for them this time. Well you can guess who is leading ;p .......Ka'kara is.
Roylenna Brenoien
The spell is only good for 2 minutes. Part of the route we took last time would be a real headknocker for you, so it might pay for me to just dismiss it now and re-apply when we reach the cave. If that sounds good to you, consider it done.
"I need to be close to refresh Ka'kara's spell." Within 30' of the leaders, please.
Black Tom
Following the same route as last time, your plan seems to be working. Proteus intones a blessing just before you reach the cave where you last encountered the dragon, and there he is, dripping dark ichor from his slavering jaws.
Let's just get the initiatives and your marching order together. The dragon goes on 13.
I would tell you to say your prayers, but Proteus just did that.
Black Tom
Then Roylenna and Proteus go first, then the dragon. Only Sandros and Ka'kara can actually see it, as they have just turned the corner into the cavern with the stream, but their abrupt stopping short is telling. The dragon is approximately 25 feet to the left.
I hope WorsT is able to whip up a battle map from this. *sheepish grin*

I believe from Roylenna's last post that she was planning on refreshing the Enlarge on Ka'kara so that would leave it Proteus' action.

You decide to proceed cautiously along the right bank of the stream, Hella leading the way. There is indeed a large cave, about 50 feet across, which the stream runs right through. There are visibe exits to the left (two, north-east and east) and one closer to you (west). But Hella has barely turned the corner into the cave when the skeletal head of a small dragon (that is, about the size of a large dog) pokes around the corner in the north-east (about 40 feet away). Its fangs drip with a venom that smokes as it hits the ground. Suddenly Hella realizes what melted her associates.
This was the earlier description so about the size of a large dog. (medium?)

The dragon moves to 12158 and lets out a contemptuous snort before spewing some kind of vile caustic ichor onto Ka'kara, Sandros, Hella, Jiro and Proteus. Reflex 17 or take 12 points of acid damage. Proteus gets a +2 for having cover from the rock outcrop.
Sandros, Jiro, Hella and Ka'kara are up.

Heh, so much for trying to keep everyone out of it. Reflex: 1d20+1=12
Ka'kara attempts to shield the rest of the group behind her by blocking the stream with her body, "Ha! Now you all can come up!" Glancing over her shoulder she sees the sizzling forms of her companions, "Oh...."
So the resist acid blocks the first 10 points for her, right? She takes 2 acid damage.

Save for half or none?
Also, how deep is the stream? It looks like we can both flank the dragon if Ka'kara circles south and I either just splash across or jump it and get to 121060.
Jiro
Hella
Hella zigs left, then right, so quick that she actually dashes right through the stream of acid, practically a direct hit.
I must have seriously offended Invisible Castle in a past life. With a decent roll ,my evasion would have precluded any damage.
Hella moves to 116054 and is already beginning to regret taking a shot at the dragon.
Crossbow attack: 1d20+6=15
Damage: 1d6=1

Don't you mean 121057 Sandros? The dragon did move. With your acrobatics I think you can jump across that lil creek automatically. Yes, I can circle all the way around and fill the four squares directly South of the dragon so you'll have flank next round (since I go after you) and still attack. Actually she'll leave a 5' gap between her and the dragon so squares (120060,121060,120061,121061)
Surprise accuracy +3, flank +2, str +4, BAB+3, bless +1, rage +2, power attack -3 1d20+12=15, 2d8+18=31 Ewww! Well, here's hoping skeletal dragons have low AC's

I assume things have changed on the map, but I can't see how Roylenna didn't get an acid bath, too. In case her name was left out on accident, 1d20+6=23
Roylenna will use her Heavenly Fire, as usual, moving up if necessary to keep the dragon in range. Otherwise, she will keep her distance 25'.

Yes I did (and I have no idea why I typed 121060), but I was more worried about your move than mine. And I'll delay until we can move together, I want to try out a new trick.
"You go right, I go left!" Sandros shouts, waiting for a confirming nod from Ka'kara before they move together. Bracketing the dragon in what he hopes will be a deadly killing field, Sandros whips his rapier around while shouting, "Aika tildemakil," lunging toward the dragon.
Move: to 121057.
Swift action: cast critical strike.
Blessed rapier attack with flank and Power Attack, plus critical strike (1d20+9=16, damage 1d6+4=8, critical strike damage 1d6=6)
Ewww! Well, here's hoping skeletal dragons have low AC's
Yeah, no kidding...
Proteus
I'm going to go ahead and post my action (since everyone else has).
Proteus hustles forward to 116056 and speaks the word "Vitae" filling the intersection with divine energy.
Channel positive energy (2d6=6). That should include everyone for 6 hp of healing.
Did I miss something, the dragon is a skeletal? If that's true, then Proteus will include the dragon in the burst requiring a Will save DC 14 for half damage and to avoid the fear effect. If it's not true, then Proteus will not include the dragon in the effect.
And finally, updated map.

It's a black dragon, they just look kinda skeletal. They're sometimes called "skull dragons" because of it.

Ohhhhhhhhhhh.........I thought from his description that it was actually undead....
Black Tom
Sorry for the confusion. The dragon is indeed alive. It's breath weapon extends 60 feet and it's save for half (except that I think that Jiro and Hella have Evasion and that Ka'kara and Sandros have acid resistance). It's a line, so it did miss Roylenna (unless I drew it crooked).
Sandros and Ka'kara fail to penetrate the dragon's tough hide, but Roylenna's Heavenly fire strikes true, boring a small hole in the dragon's side. Proteus channels holy energy and you feel refreshed.
Feeling the impact of Ka'kara's blow, the dragon hisses and falls upon her in a flurry of teeth, claws and buffeting wings. Ka'kara is severely beaten and takes 21 points of damage.
You're up. Do your worst.
Hella
Already regretting it, but with no time to reconsider, Hella drops her crossbow, draws her dagger, and charges to 120057, leaping across the stream to accomplish this. She slices at the dragons right thigh:
MW dagger w/ Flank, Bless, Charge: 1d20+12=17
Damage if that hits: 1d3+1d6=7
