Every time I watch that movie, I spot some other cool little detail, like the game of Labyrinth in Sara's bedroom.
I love the opening pan in Sarah's room--there are so many fine details that foreshadow or connect with later events in the film.

Highlander is my all-time favorite movie. I've seen it probably 100+ times now.
I've seen Monty Python and the Holy Grail slightly fewer times, but it holds a close 2nd place.
The Matrix is in 3rd, as I bought a home theater system and a new DVD player just to have the rooftop scene in digital surround sound.
My wife loves Labyrinth. It was the movie of her choice in the birthing suite when she delivered our 2nd child.

Casablanca
To me it's just about the perfect movie.
Stars, writing, direction, drama, humor.
And the quotes! So many good quotes that have entered onto common venacular.
Casablanca is way up close to the top for me, as well, Pete. And I have used that description for it as well... just the perfect movie. Not my absolute favorite, but the best blend of everything you could hope for.

Yeah the original was one the all time greatest movies ever. The directors cut even better. It's too bad none of the sequels even approached the level of utmost cool that the first one did.
"I've got something to say....it's better to burn out then to fade away!"

One of the best.

Star Wars
Circa 1977
Not Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, just Star Wars. Han shot first.
Seconded. Mainly because it so captured my attention from the moment I saw it and it has never let go.
Casablanca is a very close second. I have actually stolen themes from this movie for gaming. Such a great movie.

I was wondering if you had to pick an all time favorite movie, what would it be?
Dr. Strangelove: Or How I Learned To Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb.
"I can no longer sit back and allow... Communist infiltration... Communist indoctrination... Communist subversion... and the international Communist conspiracy... to sap and impurify all of our precious bodily fluids!"
Also, I can't believe they're remaking Red Dawn to "better fit with the post-9/11 world." Blasphemy!

Silence of the Lambs, but The Thing is pretty close behind.
The Thing!!
I forgot about that movie!! Way up there for me and I think I have done that scenario at least half dozen times over the years in various games! The best one was when I stranded a group on an ice world in an old school Traveller game and none of the players were familiar with the movie! Awesome!

It's a Wonderful Life
I know that's kind of lame, but that movie is just so damn successful at pulling my heartstrings. Some people think it's schmaltzy, but I think they're seeing the sincerity in it as false. Personally, I think it's profound. I can't help but get misty eyed every time George's brother toastes "To my big brother George, the richest man in town"
