I loved it, absolutely loved it for a good long while. It has just started to get a bit too excessive since they started the "war" with the neighboring town. It feels like he's just trying to one-up himself on gratuitous violence.
Maybe. I think an exodus is in order or the discovery of higher order zombies that make them fight for their lives some more. I understand the theme of ' humans as the real monsters', but it would be nice to get back to the 'bare bones' of the comic, or 'flesh it out' with smart zombies. heh.

I started out reading the series as it came out, but due to things not shipping I missed a couple. I now read Walking Dead in trades. I love the series as much as ever but yeah -it has began to lose its way somewhat.
It could do with getting back to its roots.
One missed opportunity is the use of 'fast' and 'slow/traditional' zombies.
It would have been good if the 'freshly zombed' were fast and dangerous until they got too rotten and then slowed down.
Anyone else not a big fan of Rick?

Rick is great. He gets banged up something awful though. I like aspects of many characters, but you know, for the life of me I can't remember names.
I would like to see a recurring zombie character. Not as bad as those from Day of the Dead, but something similar. A smart zombie would be cool, or a human that learned to control them somehow.

Im buying the hard-backs (at 20$ a pop) and just finished Book 3, so please spoiler anything further in heh. Ya, as a huge fan of zombies, I can say I love the comic and really it is the only one to stay close enough to 'traditional' to be worth reading, imo. Havent tried anything else, just by perusing. Marvel Zombie might be the only other thing...
Spoiler - I love the prison scene. It was great, but man the character die so often! I know it gives it added grit and all, but I try to get into these secondary characters, but it never lasts...
Anyone ever read Monster Island? I'm thinking of giving it a try to cure my zombie-lust.
