Character Creation for Pathfinder Society Events at GenCon?

Liberty's Edge

Do we have any information on how to build characters for GenCon Indy yet? I was informed we would have those rules sometime in early to mid-June...which is about now.

Just curious. And if I've missed a post along those lines, could someone please redirect me?

Thanks

So wait...according to the blog post you're going to be using 3.5? Not PF Beta? That's kind of disappointing.

Will there be character conversions for Season 1, or will it have to be all new characters?

They said from day one that they were going to start using PFRPG rules when the system is final in Season 1. As for character conversions, each character exists solely within the confines of one, 12-level season.

Ah, well, definitely saving my first character concept for next season then. Now I gotta go think up something else =p

Edit: Will things from Pathfinder sources be allowed? For example the Harrow spell, Sin Magic, feats like Lone Wolf?

Doesn't sound like it. With people potentially playing without access to all the Paizo materials, it seems to me they are trying to kee everything on an even playing field, assuming everyone has at least a PHB.

Lots of nice hints in today's Blog. I think it will be really great. I look forward to getting the rules so i can get my group started making their characters. I did print out the blog and give it to them so they could start generating ideas. If I'm not DMing, I'm gonna be all over making characters.

Well, I think the blog post gives enough information to start working up a character though perhaps not to finalize one. Gnomish bard, here I come :)

This is incorrect. While characters do have a level cap at 12th level, not every player will hit 12th level in the span of a season and players can play their characters through as many seasons as it takes to hit the cap. Starting with Season 1 in August 2009, we'll launch events specifically for 12th level characters at major conventions that Paizo attends so that the most hardcore Pathfinder Society players will have high-level rewards for their most dedicated characters.

Before Season 1 launches in August 2009 under the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game rules system, there will be a character conversion guideline on the Pathfinder Society web page detailing how to make your 3.5 PFS character a PRPG character.

Season 1 will likely be restrained to the core rules only, though I'm positive the Player's Guide will contain additional rules from previously Pathfinder-only sources for players to use to expand their character concepts and make them decidedly more Golarion-flavored.

Other than the pathfinder campaign setting book that won't be out till gencon, and the brief society descriptions, is there somewhere we can look for info on the campaign world?
