Just one question about an item..

The Valeros mini.. is his bow & arrow supposed to be a separate piece that's loose in the packaging?

Also, P012 Xanesha the Lamia Matriarch, he spear came bent on a 45 degree angle (toward her head) so that's definitely damaged. I just want that noted in case I can't straighten it with it breaking. Seems like the minis just fit into the box and the lamia got squished in.

Xanesha's Impaler of Thorns was a little bent (not quite 45 degrees) in my order as well, but it straightened out nicely. Best of luck.

Miniature newbie here.. any advice to straightening it?

Valeros's bow and arrow are supposed to come as separate pieces from the miniature.

As for the Lamia's spear, I have noted on your order that it arrived bent. I would definitely suggest that you try to very carefully bend it back into place. Metal minis with long skinny bits such as this one are very fragile, and it is extremely difficult to pack them in such a way that absolutely no bending occurs. We can only pack them in such a way to make sure as little bending occurs as possible (which we do). This all means that, while I will be happy to replace the mini if it breaks, I cannot guarantee that the replacement will arrive completely unbent.

After checking with people here in the office who have experience with metal minis, I have a bit of advice for correcting the mini. First, make sure that you bend the mini once. If you bend it back, and then go to correct it again, it will probably break. Second, make sure that the entire mini is secured, and bend the entire spear so that you are bending it back at the point of the original bend. If you try to bend it back by holding the tip of the spear, it will bend back above the original bend and the Lamia's spear will end up s-shaped, with two bends in it. Finally, bend it very slowly and very carefully.

Let me know how it turns out.

thanks,
cos

Remember... pictures of well-painted miniatures are ALWAYS cool. Just sayin' :)

I cannot offer any better advice than Cos did. The metal is soft and should bend back fairly easily. I just bent mine back in one slow bend like Cosmo suggested. Should hopefully give you no problems.

Ok.. probably should note that in the product description.. you know.. for us newbies that don't know miniatures sometimes have loose pieces. :)

Alrighty.. might be a bit before I get to the Lamia, as this being my first serious attempt at minis I want to start with the goblins since I have so many of them. The Iconics will definitely be the last. Just wanted to get word out there so in a month or two it's not something I'm suddenly having an issue of. :)

Duly noted and thanks for the heads-up!
